Okay, here’s my blog post about setting up the Skymee Pet Feeder:
So, I finally caved and got one of those automatic pet feeders. My cat, Whiskers, is a grazer, and I was tired of constantly refilling her bowl. Plus, I’m planning a weekend trip soon, and I wanted to make sure she’d be fed on time. I went with the Skymee Pet Feeder because it had good reviews, and honestly, the design looked kinda sleek.

Unboxing and First Impressions
The box arrived, and I was eager to get started. Inside, there was the feeder itself, a power adapter, and a little instruction booklet. It was all pretty straightforward. The feeder is mostly white plastic, but it feels sturdy enough. It’s got a big hopper on top for the kibble and a little bowl at the bottom.
Setting Up the Feeder
First thing I did was plug it in. Obvious, I know, but hey, gotta start somewhere! Then, I downloaded the app. The instructions had a QR code, which made it super easy. Once the app was installed, I created an account. This part was a little annoying with all the usual email verification stuff, but I got through it.
Next, I needed to connect the feeder to my Wi-Fi. This is where I hit a tiny snag. It took a couple of tries, I have to push the reset bottom for a few seconds. My Wi-Fi is usually pretty solid, so I’m not sure what the issue was. But, eventually, it connected, and I was good to go.
Programming the Feeding Schedule
This is the fun part! In the app, I could set up a feeding schedule. I decided to go with four small meals a day, just like Whiskers is used to. I selected the times and the portion sizes. The app lets you be pretty precise with the portions, which is great.
- Set up four meals a day.
- Adjust the time for each meal.
- Use the portion control slider.
Testing It Out
Of course, I had to test it out! I pressed the manual feed button on the app, and a small amount of kibble dropped into the bowl. Whiskers came running, so I guess it works! I also set up the schedule and waited for the first automated feeding. Sure enough, at the scheduled time, the feeder dispensed the food. Success!
Final Thoughts
Overall, I’m pretty happy with the Skymee Pet Feeder. It was relatively easy to set up, and the app is user-friendly. Whiskers seems to approve, too, which is the most important thing! I feel much better about leaving her alone for a few days, knowing she’ll be fed on time. It’s definitely a win-win!
One more little thing, I also love the build-in camera, I can use the phone to see my cat anytime anywhere, even talk to her! And it is so funny to call her name and watch she is coming!
