Alright, let’s gab about this Chinese food in St. Pete, you know, that place down in Florida. Folks keep askin’ me, “Where’s the good grub?” Well, hold your horses, I’ll tell ya what I heard.
Now, I ain’t never been to St. Pete myself, but my niece, bless her heart, she went down there last year. Said she was lookin’ for some real-deal Chinese food, not that Americanized stuff you get sometimes. She told me there’s a bunch of places, but findin’ the good ones, well, that’s like findin’ a needle in a haystack, ya know?

She kept hearin’ about this Dim Sum Kitchen place. Said they got all sorts of little dumplings and things. Sounded kinda fancy to me, but she said it was good. Then there’s Zom Hee Chinese Restaurant. Now that name, that’s a mouthful! But my niece said it’s been around forever, so it must be doin’ somethin’ right. They say the shrimp is fresh, swimmin’ around in a tank just before they cook it, can you imagine?
Another place she yapped about was New China and China Wok. Said they were pretty good too, you know, your regular Chinese food, like that sweet and sour chicken and that beef with broccoli. She also mentioned ABC Seafood, said they got good seafood, bein’ so close to the water and all. And if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ a little different, she said Hawkers Asian Street Food is the place to be. Though street food it sounds messy, I tell you.
- Dim Sum Kitchen – Dumplings and such, kinda fancy
- Zom Hee Chinese Restaurant – Been around a long time, gotta be good
- New China – Your regular Chinese food, like that chicken and broccoli
- China Wok – Another one with the regular Chinese dishes
- ABC Seafood – Seafood, cause they’re by the water, you see
- Hawkers Asian Street Food – Something different, like they eat on the streets
My niece, she’s a picky eater, mind you. So if she says it’s good, it’s probably good. She also went to a place called Kue’s Cafe, and another called Lucky Star Chinese. Said they were alright, not the best, not the worst. Just kinda middle-of-the-road, ya know?
Then there’s that Chopstick Express, sounded like a fast-food kinda place, but she said the food was pretty decent, especially if you’re in a hurry. And China Kitchen, another one of them China places, said it was pretty similar to the others. And there’s this Ha Long Bay place, she said it wasn’t just Chinese, had other Asian food too.
Now, St. Pete, it’s on that Gulf Coast, you know, where all the seafood is. So they say you gotta try the seafood when you’re down there. My niece, she went to this 400 Beach Seafood and Tap House and this The Maritana Grille, said they got oysters and coconut shrimp, all that fancy stuff. But we ain’t talkin’ about seafood today, we’re talkin’ about Chinese!
So, if you’re lookin’ for Chinese food in St. Pete, there you have it. A whole bunch of places to try. Just remember, everyone’s got different tastes. What I like, you might not like, and what my niece likes, well, she’s a bit of a city slicker, so take it with a grain of salt. But I reckon if you try a few of them places, you’ll find somethin’ you like. Just don’t be afraid to ask the locals, they always know the best spots, ya know? That’s what my niece did anyway, asking folks on the streets.
And remember, good food ain’t always about the fancy places. Sometimes the best grub is in them little hole-in-the-wall joints. So keep your eyes peeled and your belly empty, and you’ll find some good eatin’ in St. Pete, I guarantee it! Good food is good food, no matter where it’s cooked, right?

Anyways, I reckon that’s all I know about Chinese food down in St. Pete. Hope it helps ya find somethin’ tasty!
