Different Kinds of Ragdoll Cats, huh? Let me tell ya somethin’ about these fluffy critters.
Well, I ain’t no fancy cat expert or nothin’, but I’ve seen my fair share of cats wanderin’ around. And these Ragdolls, they’re somethin’ special, I tell ya. First off, they got all sorts of colors. Some are dark, like a seal, ya know, like those dark, shiny seals down by the water. Others are light, like a blue, kinda like a dusty sky. Then there’s chocolate, looks like a yummy candy bar, and lilac, like them pretty flowers growin’ in the spring.

And the colors ain’t just plain, oh no. Some got stripes, like a tiger, they call it lynx. Some got mixed colors, like a calico, but they call it tortie. And some got both stripes and mixed colors, them’s the tortie-lynx ones, real fancy-lookin’. I reckon some folks like ’em plain, some like ’em with a bit of pizazz. It’s all up to ya, I guess.
Now, let’s talk about the patterns on them cats. See, they ain’t all the same. Some got a lotta white on ’em, like they dipped their paws in milk. They call them bi-color, ‘cause it’s two colors, get it? Then there’s the ones with just a little bit of white, like they got mittens on, they call ‘em mitted. Cute, ain’t it?
- Bi-color: Lots of white, like they got a white belly and white paws.
- Mitted: Just a bit of white, like they wearin’ little white mittens.
- Colorpoint: No white at all, just the color on their face, ears, paws and tail.
- Van: Mostly white with color only on the ears and tail, like they wearin’ a little hat and a tail warmer.
And then there’s the colorpoint ones, they got the color on their face, ears, paws and tail, like they wearin’ a mask and boots. And the last ones, they call ‘em van, they mostly white with color only on their ears and tail, like they put on a hat and a tail warmer afore they went outside. Every one is different, just like us folks.
Now, I heard some folks call some Ragdolls “Lynx Ragdolls.” That just means they got them stripes I was tellin’ ya about. Nothin’ too fancy, just a different look. It’s like havin’ a dress with stripes and a dress with polka dots, still a dress, just looks different.
And what about the colors themselves? Well, like I said, there’s seal, blue, chocolate, lilac, and then there’s red and cream too. Red is kinda like ginger, ya know, like them orange cats you see runnin’ around. And cream is like a softer, lighter version of that. Some folks even talk about cinnamon and fawn colors, but I ain’t seen too many of them. Sounds kinda like spices to me, I reckon.
So, ya got all these colors, and then ya got the patterns, and ya mix ’em all up and ya get all sorts of different lookin’ Ragdolls. It’s like makin’ a quilt, ya got all different pieces and ya put ’em together however ya like.
One thing I know for sure, these Ragdolls, they like company. They ain’t like them ol’ grumpy cats that just wanna be left alone. They like havin’ another cat around, or even a dog. I reckon it’s ‘cause they’re so gentle and friendly, they just wanna cuddle up with somethin’ or someone. They get lonely just like us folks do. So, if ya get a Ragdoll, maybe think about gettin’ two. They’ll keep each other outta mischief, maybe.

So there ya have it, a little somethin’ about the different kinds of Ragdoll cats. They come in all sorts of colors and patterns, but they’re all pretty special, I reckon. They’re gentle, friendly, and they like havin’ a friend. If ya ask me, that sounds like a pretty good cat to have around.
But remember, I ain’t no expert, just tellin’ ya what I’ve seen and heard. If ya want the real fancy details, go ask one of them cat breeders. They’ll tell ya all the fancy names and such. Me? I just call ‘em pretty cats.
