Alright, so you wanna know how much them fancy Persian cats cost, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t gonna be cheap. These ain’t no barn cats, that’s for sure. They’re like the movie stars of the cat world, all fluffy and prissy.
First off, gettin’ the cat itself is gonna cost ya. I heard tell it could be anywhere from 500 to 2000 dollars! Can ya believe that? That’s more than my ol’ Bessie cost, and she was a good milker! Why so much? Well, folks say it’s ’cause they’re purebred and pretty and all that. And you gotta get ’em shots and fixed too, just like any other critter, so add that to the bill.

Then there’s the keepin’ ’em up part. These ain’t no low-maintenance cats, no sirree. They gotta be groomed all the time, like, every day! Can you imagine? Comb, comb, comb, all day long. And baths too! My cats just lick themselves clean, but these fancy ones, oh no, they need special baths. That means buyin’ all sorts of shampoos and brushes and whatnot. More money, see?
- Food: They gotta eat, just like us. But they probably don’t eat no scraps like my cats do. They probably got some fancy food that costs a pretty penny.
- Litter: Well, everybody poops, even fancy cats. So gotta buy that litter stuff, and that ain’t free neither.
- Vet Visits: And Lord help you if they get sick. Vet bills ain’t no joke, let me tell ya. These Persian cats, they got their own special problems, so you gotta be ready for that. They say some of ‘em get real sick and that’ll cost ya.
So, how much is all this gonna cost ya in a year? Well, I heard some folks sayin’ it could be anywhere from 700 to almost 3000 dollars a year! That’s like a whole month’s worth of groceries for some folks. And it’s gone up lately, they say. Everything’s gettin’ more expensive, ain’t it?
Some folks say them cats is worth it though. They say they’re real sweet and gentle, and they like bein’ around people. They ain’t like them outdoor cats that are always runnin’ around. These Persians, they like to stay inside and be all cozy. And they don’t mind if you’re gone all day, workin’ or whatnot. They just want a quiet home and for things to stay the same, you know, regular routine.
But listen here, if you ain’t got the money or the time, don’t go gettin’ no Persian cat. It ain’t fair to the cat, and it ain’t fair to you. You gotta be prepared to take care of ’em right, or don’t get one at all. That’s what I always say. It’s like gettin’ a new baby, they need a lot of lookin’ after.
So, there you have it. That’s the lowdown on how much them Persian cats cost. It ain’t cheap, but if you got the money and the love to give, then maybe it’s worth it. But me? I’ll stick with my good ol’ farm cats. They don’t cost much, but they’re good mousers and they keep me company. And that’s all a body needs, ain’t it? A good cat that don’t break the bank.
Think long and hard before you go gettin’ one of them fancy cats, that’s my advice. It’s a big commitment, and it ain’t for everybody. But if you’re set on it, well, then go ahead and open up that pocket book, cause it’s gonna be a pricey ride.
