Alright, let’s talk about them Midwestern Pet Foods brands, you know, the stuff we feed our dogs and cats. I ain’t no fancy expert or nothin’, just an old woman who’s seen a thing or two about feeding critters.
Now, Midwestern Pet Foods, they’re a big company, been around for a while, family-owned and all that. They make their food right here in the USA, got a bunch of kitchens and such. They even say their bags are recyclable, somethin’ about “Earthborn ReBorn,” sounds fancy, huh?

They got this Wholesomes brand. It’s supposed to be good stuff, you know, “carefully crafted” they say. I reckon that means they put some thought into it. It’s for dogs and cats, both. I guess that makes it easy, one-stop shoppin’ for all your furry friends.
- Wholesomes: Good for dogs and cats, easy peasy.
Then there’s this Earthborn Holistic. They just changed their look, made it all fancy-like. You know how these companies are, always gotta change things up to make you buy more. I seen it all before. But, folks say it’s good food, supposed to be “holistic” and all, whatever that means. Keeps your pets healthy, I guess, that’s what matters.
- Earthborn Holistic: The new look is fancy, the food is supposed to be good for ‘em.
Now, I ain’t never used it myself, but I hear tell of Purina Pro Plan. That ain’t Midwestern, mind you, but folks talk about it. Seems like they got a whole bunch of different kinds, for big dogs, little dogs, fat dogs, skinny dogs, dogs with tummy troubles…you name it, they got it. Wet food, dry food, the whole shebang. Must be good if so many folks are usin’ it, but I stick with what I know.
- Purina Pro Plan: Not Midwestern, but lots of folks like it. Lots of choices for picky eaters or special needs.
You know, there’s a whole heap of pet food companies out there. Seems like every time you turn around, there’s a new one. This Midwestern Pet Foods, they seem alright, though. Bein’ family-owned and makin’ it here in the USA, that counts for somethin’ in my book. And with so many pet food places around, it’s a wonder any of ’em stay in business. I heard there’s over a thousand of ’em just here in the US. That’s a lot of kibble, I tell ya!
But what really matters is if your dog or cat likes it and if it keeps ‘em healthy. You don’t wanna be feedin’ ‘em somethin’ that makes ‘em sick. That just ain’t right. So, you gotta do your research, read the labels, talk to other folks, see what they’re feedin’ their critters. And don’t be fooled by all them fancy words and pretty pictures. Sometimes the plain ol’ stuff is the best.
And remember, a healthy pet is a happy pet. And a happy pet makes for a happy home. So, take care of them critters, feed ‘em good, and they’ll give you love and companionship for years to come. That’s what I always say. It ain’t about the brand name, it’s about what’s inside the bag, and how it makes your animals feel. You can see it in their eyes, you know, if they’re feelin’ good and eatin’ right. That’s all there is to it.
So, whether it’s Wholesomes, Earthborn Holistic, or somethin’ else altogether, find what works for you and your pets. And don’t be afraid to try different things, just like us old folks have to try different things to keep goin’. Our pets are part of the family, and they deserve the best we can give ‘em, even if we don’t always know what “holistic” means.

Midwestern Pet Foods seem to be doin’ alright by folks and their critters. Just remember to choose wisely, and your furry friends will thank you for it. And that’s all I gotta say about that.
