Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Garfield jersey thing. Folks seem to be goin’ crazy for it, and I’m here to tell ya what I heard.
First off, what is it? Seems like it’s a shirt, you know, like them fellas wear when they’re playin’ ball. But this one’s got that fat cat, Garfield, on it. You know, the one who loves lasagna? Yeah, that’s the fella. Some of ’em say “Garfield” real big, some got pictures. I seen some with a whole bunch of other stuff on ’em too, like words and numbers. They got all sorts, long sleeves, short sleeves, even them hoodie things.
Now, where do ya get these things? I heard tell there’s a place called Lids that sells ’em. They got all sorts of Garfield stuff, not just jerseys. Hats, shirts, all sorts of knick-knacks. Sounds like a place for them young’uns and the folks who never grew up, if ya ask me.
Why are folks buyin’ ’em? Well, some folks just like that cat. He’s funny, I guess. Always eatin’ and sleepin’ and bein’ lazy. Reminds me of some folks I know, ha! Then there’s them collectors, the ones who gotta have everythin’ with that cat’s face on it. They’ll pay good money for these things, I tell ya.
And then there’s them school jerseys, the ones that say “Garfield University” on ’em. Now, I ain’t never heard of no Garfield University, but I guess it’s a thing. Maybe it’s one of them fancy city schools, who knows. But them jerseys, they got that cat on ’em too, lookin’ all sporty. Kinda funny, if ya ask me.

- Why People Like ‘Em: Some folks just love that cat, plain and simple. Others collect ’em, like stamps or them little doll babies. And some just want to show off their school spirit, even if it’s for a fake university, ha!
I even heard tell of some Garfield jerseys from way back when, like the 1980s. Them vintage ones, they call ’em. Folks pay a pretty penny for them old things. I guess they think it’s like findin’ buried treasure or somethin’. More power to ’em, I say. If they wanna spend their money on old shirts, that’s their business.

Garfield, New Jersey, itself ain’t nothin’ special, far as I can tell. Used to be a place where they made cloth, but now it’s just a bunch of factories and such. Small place, not much bigger than my farm, I reckon. But I guess it’s famous now, ’cause of that cat. Funny how things work out, ain’t it?
