Okay, so, I’ve been wanting a French Bulldog for, like, forever. I finally decided to get serious about it and started looking around Indiana. Here’s how it all went down.
First, I hit up Google – “french bulldog for sale indiana,” you know, the usual. I found a bunch of different breeders, but honestly, it was kind of overwhelming. A lot of websites looked pretty sketchy, and I wasn’t about to just hand over my money to some random person online.

Then I came across a few names that kept popping up: “Hoosier Bulldogs” was one. They’re in Muncie, which isn’t too far from Indy. Seemed like they were legit, breeding those AKC Frenchies. I also saw something called “PuppySpot” and “PuppyFinder” but it felt a bit too much like a puppy mill to me, you know? No offense to anyone who uses them, it just wasn’t my vibe.
I dug a little deeper, trying to figure out what makes a good breeder. Apparently, Indiana has some rules about selling puppies, which is good! Breeders gotta be licensed and stuff, so that’s a relief. Still, it’s a lot to take in when you’re just starting out. I wanted to make sure I was doing this right and getting a healthy, happy pup from someone who actually cares about the dogs.
I started looking at reviews for different breeders, trying to get a feel for who was reputable and who was, well, not. It’s tough because you can’t always trust what you read online, but you gotta start somewhere, right? I tried to focus on breeders who seemed to really care about their dogs and had good feedback from other people who had bought puppies from them.
Here is my main takeaway from this experience: Finding a good breeder takes time and effort. There were a lot of options out there, but I wanted to make sure I was doing it right. I want to make sure my French Bulldog is healthy. Also, I want to make sure that the breeder isn’t one of those puppy mill people.
What I Did Next
- Checked out Hoosier Bulldogs: Since they were close and seemed legit, I figured I’d start there. I looked at their website, read some reviews, and tried to find out more about their breeding practices.
- Looked for reviews: I spent a lot of time reading reviews from different people who had bought puppies from various breeders in Indiana. I tried to find patterns and see which breeders consistently got good feedback.
- Made some calls: I actually picked up the phone and called a couple of breeders. I wanted to get a feel for them, ask some questions, and see if they sounded like they knew what they were doing.
- Asked a lot of questions: When I talked to breeders, I asked about health testing, how they socialize the puppies, and what kind of support they offer after you take the puppy home. You know, all the important stuff.
It was definitely a process, but I’m glad I took my time. I learned a ton about Frenchies and about what to look for in a good breeder. I am still in the process of finding my perfect French Bulldog but I think I am on the right track. Stay tuned!
