Alright, let’s talk about them red German Shepherds, you know, the big dogs, kinda like the ones the police have, but red. I seen a few around, pretty dogs, but a whole lotta work, I tell ya.

What are these red dogs anyway? Well, they ain’t nothin’ special, just a different color of that German Shepherd dog. Like, you got black ones, tan ones, and then these red fellers. Someone told me it’s somethin’ called “pheomelanin,” some kinda color gene thingy, makes ’em red. Don’t make ’em no different, just prettier, in my opinion. They ain’t as many as the black and tan ones, but still, you see ’em around.

Now, these dogs, they’re big, real big. Need lots of space to run around. You can’t just keep ’em cooped up in a little apartment, that ain’t right. They need exercise, lots of it. And trainin’, oh boy, you gotta train ’em. Not just teachin’ ’em to sit and stay, I mean real trainin’. Like, get a professional, someone who knows what they’re doin’. These ain’t no little lap dogs, they’re powerful animals.

  • Big and strong
  • Need lots of exercise
  • Gotta be trained good

But, you know, they’re good dogs. Smart too, real smart. They learn quick, specially if you got treats. And they’re loyal, stick to you like glue. Good with kids too, from what I hear. My neighbor’s got one, and that dog lets them kids pull its tail and ears, just sits there and takes it. But, like I said, you still gotta watch ’em, they’re big and strong, could knock a little kid over without even meanin’ to.

Now, why would you want a red one? Well, like I said, they’re pretty. But more than that, they’re just like the other German Shepherds, good protectors. They’ll keep your house safe, scare off any bad folks. They’re family dogs too, love to be with their people. But they shed, oh lordy, they shed. You’ll be findin’ hair everywhere, on your clothes, on your furniture, even in your food! And they get clingy, always wantin’ to be right by your side. Some folks like that, some folks don’t. Me, I like a dog that’s a little more independent, but that’s just me.

Thinkin’ about gettin’ one? Well, first, you gotta think about whether you can handle it. Like I said, they’re big, strong, need lots of exercise and training. And they shed, a lot! You gotta be prepared for that. And they ain’t cheap neither. Good breeders cost money, and then you gotta pay for food, vet bills, all that stuff. It ain’t somethin’ to take lightly.

And another thing, they can tell when you’re sad, you know? My niece had one, and when she was goin’ through a tough time, that dog just stayed right by her side, never left her alone. It’s like they know, they just sense it. Kinda amazin’, really.

So, there you have it, that’s what I know about them red German Shepherds. They’re beautiful dogs, loyal and smart, but they’re a lot of work. If you’re thinkin’ about gettin’ one, do your research, make sure you’re ready for it. It ain’t just gettin’ a dog, it’s gettin’ a new family member, a big, hairy, red one.

Trainin’ a Red German Shepherd ain’t much different from trainin’ any other German Shepherd, but you gotta start early and be consistent. They say potty trainin’ is important. I mean, no one wants a big dog messin’ up their house, right? You got to take them out regular and give them lots of praise when they do their business outside. Obedience trainin’ is just as important and socializing. I mean, you don’t want your dog bitin’ folks or other dogs. You should show them to other people and other dogs when they are young. It helps them to be well-behaved.

So, if you’re looking for a big, beautiful, loyal dog, and you’re ready for the work that comes with it, then a red German Shepherd might just be the dog for you. But don’t say I didn’t warn ya, they’re a handful!
