Okay, so I recently had to reset my SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder. It wasn’t feeding my cat, Mittens, at the scheduled times, and honestly, I was starting to panic a little. No one wants a hangry kitty!
First, I checked the obvious stuff. Was it plugged in? Yep. Did it have batteries? Yep, brand new ones, in fact. Still nothing. So, I knew it was time for a full reset.

The Reset Process
It’s actually pretty simple, which is a relief. Here’s what I did:
- Locate the buttons. There are these little buttons on the back of the feeder, I flipped it over to get a good look.
- Press and hold. I then pressed and hold add pet button and Fn button, and then press the open and close button, keeping them all pressed for like 10 seconds. It felt like a long 10 seconds, I won’t lie.
- Wait for the beep. After holding the buttons,I heard the beeped. That’s the signal that it’s reset.
- Release the buttons. Once I heard the beep, I let go of all the buttons.
After the reset, I had to reprogram everything – Mittens’ feeding schedule, the portion sizes, everything. It was a bit of a pain, but it got the feeder working again, so totally worth it.
I set everything back up, put some food in the bowl, and waited. And…success! Mittens was able to eat, and my stress levels went way down. The feeder opened right on schedule, and all was right with the world (or at least, my cat’s world).
So, yeah, resetting the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder is pretty straightforward. Just a few button presses, and you’re back in business. Don’t forget to reprogram everything afterward, though!
