Okay, so, I’ve been dealing with this whole flea and tick situation with my cat, Mittens. It’s been a real headache, you know? I tried a bunch of different things, but nothing seemed to really do the trick. Then, I stumbled upon this thing called Simparica Trio. I heard it was available for cats too, not just dogs, so I figured, why not give it a shot?
First off, I called up my vet ’cause, you know, it’s always good to get their opinion on these things. Turns out, Simparica Trio is one of those prescription-only deals. So, I booked an appointment for Mittens, got the check-up, and walked out with a prescription.

Getting the meds was the next step. Went to the local pet pharmacy, handed over the prescription, and boom, got myself a pack of Simparica Trio for cats. It comes in these monthly chewable tablets. Seemed pretty straightforward.
Now, the real test – giving it to Mittens. I was a bit worried ’cause she can be a picky eater. But, I just crumbled it into her wet food, and she gobbled it all up without a fuss. So far, so good.
They say this stuff starts working pretty fast. Killing fleas and ticks and all that jazz. I’m supposed to give her one tablet every month. It’s been a couple of weeks now, and I gotta say, I haven’t seen any fleas on her. She seems a lot more comfortable, too. No more scratching like crazy.
I also read somewhere that you gotta be careful if you have dogs. Apparently, if your dog gets into the cat’s Simparica, it could be bad news. So, I made sure to keep it out of reach of my dog, Buster. Better safe than sorry, right?
Here’s what I did:
- Called the vet and made an appointment.
- Got a prescription for Simparica Trio for cats.
- Picked up the meds from the pet pharmacy.
- Gave the tablet to Mittens with her food.
- Kept the meds away from my dog.
- Observed Mittens for any changes.
So, that’s my experience with Simparica Trio for cats. It’s still early days, but it seems to be working out pretty well. I’ll keep you guys updated if anything changes. But for now, I’m just happy to see Mittens flea-free and feeling good.
Dosage:
The dosage is once a month, make sure to follow the instructions given by the vet.

Fingers crossed this is the solution I’ve been looking for!
