So, I decided to get into the cat breeding game, specifically British Shorthairs and Scottish Folds. I did some searching online and found a lot of info about this place called Silver Shine Cattery. They’re registered with TICA and based in New York, which is cool. Seemed like a good place to start.
First, I had to learn all about these breeds. Turns out, they’re pretty popular, and there’s a whole bunch of stuff to know about their care, health, and all that jazz. I spent hours reading articles, watching videos, and just soaking up as much information as I could.
Next, I needed to set up a proper space for the cats. I converted one of my spare rooms into a cat room, complete with scratching posts, cozy beds, and plenty of toys. I made sure it was a safe and comfortable environment for the little furballs.
- Bought a bunch of cat food, litter boxes, and all the necessary supplies.
- Installed some shelves and climbing structures to keep the cats entertained.
- Set up a separate area for the mama cats and their kittens.
Then came the fun part – getting the cats! I contacted a few TICA-registered breeders and eventually found a couple of beautiful British Shorthairs and Scottish Folds to start my cattery. I made sure they were healthy, well-socialized, and had all their papers in order. This is very important.
Once the cats settled in, I started learning about the breeding process. It’s a lot more complicated than I thought! You have to keep track of their cycles, make sure they’re getting the right nutrition, and be prepared for any potential complications. In addition, I also found a place on the website called Pets4Homes to sell my kittens. That’s a good place!
The First Litter
Finally, after months of waiting, one of my female cats gave birth to a litter of adorable kittens! It was such an amazing experience to witness. I helped with the delivery, made sure the kittens were nursing properly, and kept a close eye on their development. It was a lot of work, but totally worth it. I named them as Silver tabby, cute, right?
Now, I’m in the process of finding loving homes for these little guys. I want to make sure they go to families who will cherish them and provide them with the best possible care. It’s a bittersweet feeling, but I know they’ll bring a lot of joy to their new owners. I think they deserve it. That’s all, hope you like my sharing.
