Alright, so I was thinking about getting a collar for my Siberian Husky, and I realized I had no clue about the right neck size. I mean, it’s a pretty important thing, right? You don’t want your furry friend to be uncomfortable or, worse, have trouble breathing.
So, I started digging around a bit. First, I took a look at my Husky, and I thought that a husky puppy is definitely bigger than my friend’s small dog. I figured those tiny collars were definitely out of the question.

Then, I measured my Husky’s neck with a soft tape measure. You gotta make sure you get it snug but not too tight. I made a note of the measurement. Huskies normally have medium-sized necks, so I guessed the size would not be small.
Next, I went to a few pet stores and checked out the collars. I looked at the size charts on the packages and compared them to my measurement. Most of them had a pretty good range, so I could find one that fit within my Husky’s neck size.
- I picked out a few collars that were in the right size range and had my Husky try them on.
- I checked to see if I could fit two fingers comfortably between the collar and his neck. That’s the general rule of thumb to make sure it’s not too tight.
- I also made sure the collar didn’t slip over his head easily. Safety first!
After trying on a few, we finally found the perfect one. It was a sturdy, adjustable collar that fit him just right. He seemed pretty happy with it, too, which was a relief.
So, yeah, figuring out your Siberian Husky’s neck size is not as hard as it might seem. Just do a little measuring, check the size charts, and have your pup try a few on. It’s all about their comfort and safety in the end.
