Okay, so, I’ve been thinking a lot about being prepared lately, especially when it comes to my furry friend. You know, what if something happens and I can’t get to the store for dog food? It’s a scary thought, right? So I started digging around, trying to figure out what I could do in a pinch.
I figured, there’s gotta be something in my kitchen that I can give my dog in an emergency. I mean, we eat human food, so surely some of it must be okay for dogs, right? I started with chicken. It is a good choice for dogs.

- Cooked some chicken breast. Plain, no seasonings. Just boiled it until it was cooked through. My dog went absolutely nuts for it.
And it makes sense! Chicken is in a lot of dog foods anyway. I always keep a bunch of chicken breast in the fridge, it really is convenient to cook.
Think about the time
But then I started thinking, what if I don’t have time to cook? What if it’s a real emergency and I need something fast? I don’t want to just feed my dog, you know, just to find a quick alternative.
So, I did some more thinking. I know it’s not ideal, but I can keep some canned stuff on hand. It is a backup plan! I’ve got a few cans stashed away now, just in case. It’s not what I’d normally feed him, but it’s better than nothing. I decided to take this action at last. And I feel so much better knowing I have a plan. It’s all about peace of mind, you know?
