Okay, here’s my blog post about my experience with the “royal maine coon cattery” topic, written in a casual, personal style:
So, I got it in my head that I needed a Maine Coon. You know, those giant, fluffy cats that look like they belong in a fantasy novel? Yeah, one of those. And not just any Maine Coon, I wanted one from a “royal” cattery, because why not go all out, right?

First, I gotta find a cattery. Not as easy as you think. I googled “royal maine coon cattery” and… a bunch of stuff comes out. Some looked legit, some looked, uh, less so. It’s kinda like online dating for cat breeders, you gotta sift through a lot to find a good match.
Digging Deeper
I spent hours, and I mean hours, clicking from one website which has many fancy photos to another. Some of them, it should have certifications and guarantees. Finally, I narrowed it down to a few that seemed promising.
Then started the real work – checking them out. I looked for a few key things:
- Health Testing: Did they mention anything about genetic testing for common Maine Coon problems? HCM, SMA, PKDef… all that scary stuff. If they didn’t talk about it, that was a red flag.
- Registration: Were the cats registered with a reputable organization like TICA or CFA? It’s not a deal-breaker, but it’s a good sign.
- Contract and wait time:I wanna see the contract and make sure the wait time is reasonable.
I sent out a bunch of emails. Some never replied (rude!). Some were super helpful and answered all my questions. I even had a few video calls where I got to “meet” the kittens and their parents. It was adorable, but also important to see how the cats were living.
After all that, I finally chose a cattery. It felt like a big decision, and it was! I put down a deposit, signed a contract (read it carefully!), and now… I wait. My little (well, eventually big) fluffy overlord is on the way. Will keep the post to see my lovely cat!
