Okay, so, I’ve been needing to stock up on some pet supplies lately. My dog’s been going through his food like crazy, and his favorite chew toy is on its last legs. Plus, I wanted to get him a new bed – something a bit more comfy than the old, flat thing he’s been using. So I decided to check out what Mooresville, NC had to offer in terms of pet stores.
First, I did a quick search to see what my options were. It looked like there were a bunch of places to choose from – Pet Supermarket, Sea Shell Pet Shop, Hollywood Feed, and a few others. I decided to start with Hollywood Feed, just because I’d heard good things about them.

- Hollywood Feed: I walked in, and it was pretty nice! Lots of natural and holistic stuff, which I’m into. They had a good selection of food, but I noticed their prices were a little higher than what I was used to. Grabbed a bag of treats, but decided to check other places for the food and bed.
Next up, I hit a local store called “The Feed Bucket.”
- The Feed Bucket: This place was more my speed. Super friendly staff, and they had that local business vibe that I always appreciate. I told them what I was looking for, and they helped me find a good quality dog food that was cheaper than Hollywood Feed. Plus, they had a nice, fluffy dog bed that looked perfect. Scored both of those, felt pretty good about it.
Other Places Visited
I also popped into a couple of other places just to compare:
- Village Paws and Claws: It was alright, but nothing really stood out to me. Their selection was okay, prices were average.
- PetSmart: You know, the usual big chain store. They had everything you could possibly need, but it felt a bit impersonal. I did see they had grooming and training services, which is cool.
Ended up going back to The Feed Bucket to grab the food and bed. Overall, I’d say Mooresville has a decent selection of pet stores. If you’re looking for something specific, you might want to call ahead, but you can probably find what you need at one of these places. Personally, I’m all about supporting local businesses, so The Feed Bucket is my new go-to for pet supplies. Oh, and I did find some used stuff for cheap on Facebook Marketplace. If you don’t mind it, then it could save you some money.
