Alright, so I’ve been wanting to get a dog for a while now, and I finally decided to pull the trigger. I’ve always been a fan of the smaller, energetic breeds, and after doing some looking around, I settled on a Parsons Jack Russell. They just seem like such fun, lively dogs.
So, first thing I did was to start looking around for breeders or places selling these pups. I figured, I gotta find a good place to get one, right? I mostly looked through different websites where people are selling their pets.

- I used different sites where I saw a bunch of listings for Jack Russells.
- Also used another website specifically for pet adoptions.
I spent a good few days just scrolling through listings, comparing prices, locations, and the pups themselves. It was kinda overwhelming, to be honest, seeing all these cute little faces and not being able to take them all home! I saw a lot of different breeders and private sellers, all with their own litters.
Contacting the Sellers
After narrowing down my choices, I started reaching out to the sellers. I sent a bunch of messages, asking about the puppies’ parents, their health, how they’re raised, you know, all the usual stuff. Gotta make sure they’re coming from a good place and they are healthy.
Some sellers were super responsive and helpful, answering all my questions and even sending extra pictures and videos. Others, not so much. I even had a couple that didn’t even bother responding, which was kind of a red flag, if you ask me. In the end I found a really nice woman who had a small family farm where she bred these dogs. She seemed really caring and knowledgeable. She even invited me over to her place to meet the puppies and their parents in person.
And that’s where I am now. I will visit her this weekend, and hopefully come home with a new best friend. I’m super excited but also a little nervous. Wish me luck!
