Okay, so I’ve been thinking about getting a Russian Blue cat for a while now. They’re just so beautiful and elegant, you know? So, I finally decided to take the plunge and start looking for a cattery near me.
First, I started with a simple search online. I just typed in “russian blue cattery near me” and hit enter. Got a bunch of results, but it was a bit overwhelming. There were so many options, and I wasn’t sure which ones were legit.

So I started to dig a little deeper. I checked out the websites of a few catteries that looked promising. Looked at their photos, read their descriptions, and tried to get a feel for their overall vibe. Some of them were pretty fancy, with all sorts of certifications and awards. Others were more low-key, just regular folks who loved Russian Blues. I am so confused!
Then I started looking at reviews. I figured that was the best way to get an honest opinion, right? Found a few catteries with great reviews, and a few with some not-so-great ones. Made a mental note of the ones that seemed to be consistently getting good feedback. This is gonna take a while, I thought.
Next, I decided to actually reach out to a couple of the catteries. I sent some emails, just asked some basic questions about their cats, their breeding practices, and their prices. I wanted to see how responsive they were and how knowledgeable they seemed.
A couple of them got back to me right away, which was a good sign. Had some good conversations, asked more detailed questions, and started to narrow down my options. One cattery, in particular, seemed really great. The breeder was super friendly and helpful, and she answered all my questions thoroughly.
Finally, I decided to visit the cattery. I wanted to see the cats in person and get a better feel for the environment. I drove over there and met the breeder, and she showed me around. The place was clean and well-maintained, and the cats all looked happy and healthy.
- I played with the kittens for a while, and they were all so adorable.
- I finally picked out the one I wanted, and I put down a deposit.
- I am so excited, and the breeder told me he will be ready for me to take him home in a few weeks.
It was a bit of a process, but I’m glad I took the time to do my research. Now I’m confident that I’m getting a healthy, well-socialized kitten from a reputable breeder. Can’t wait to bring my little guy home!
