Well, howdy there! You wanna know about them Maine Coon cats for sale in Maryland, huh? Alright, listen up, ’cause I’m gonna tell ya what I know.
First off, these Maine Coon cats, they’re big fellas. Real big. Like, the size of a small dog, I tell ya. And fluffy! Lord, have mercy, they got more fur than a whole flock of sheep. But they’re gentle giants, they say. Friendly like a puppy, even when they get all growed up.
Now, if you’re lookin’ to buy one, there’s a few places you can go. I heard tell of some folks in Baltimore sellin’ ’em. Kittens, they call ’em. Little balls of fluff, they are. They say these folks check ’em out good, make sure they ain’t sick or nothin’. That’s important, you know. You don’t want no sickly cat.
- Look for breeders – they know their cats
- Check the shelters, but purebreds ain’t always there.
- Owners sometimes sell kittens too.
You can find these cats all over Maryland, not just Baltimore. Some folks breed ’em, real fancy-like. They got papers and all that. Those are the expensive ones, I reckon. Cost ya a pretty penny. I heard tell it could be anywhere from a thousand to two thousand dollars! Good Lord! That’s more than my old mule Bessie cost me!
But you can also get ’em from regular folks, too. Sometimes someone’s cat has kittens, and they gotta find ’em homes. Or maybe someone can’t keep their cat no more, for whatever reason. Those might be cheaper, but you gotta be careful. Make sure they’re healthy and all. And you gotta make sure they’re real Maine Coons, not just some ol’ alley cat with long hair.
Now, about them colors. They come in all sorts, it seems. I seen black ones, white ones, brown ones, even orange ones! They say them orange ones are real cuddly. Well, all Maine Coons are supposed to be cuddly, but I guess the orange ones are extra special. Like a big, fluffy, orange teddy bear, I imagine.

Some folks say these cats come from Maine, way up north. That makes sense, I guess, with a name like Maine Coon. They say sailors brought ’em over on boats a long, long time ago. Or maybe the Vikings brought ’em, who knows? Anyways, they been around a good while, that’s for sure.
And they say these cats make good pets. Friendly and all, like I said. Good with kids, too, they tell me. That’s important if you got little ones runnin’ around. You don’t want a cat that’s gonna scratch and bite. These Maine Coons, they just wanna snuggle up and purr, from what I hear.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a Maine Coon cat in Maryland, you got some options. You can go to a fancy breeder and pay big bucks. Or you can try to find one from a regular person for cheaper. Just make sure you do your homework, you know? Make sure the cat’s healthy and comes from a good home. And most importantly, make sure you’re ready for a big ol’ cat! ‘Cause like I said, these fellas ain’t small. They eat a lot, I bet, and they probably shed a whole lot of fur, too. But if you’re lookin’ for a loving companion, a big ol’ fluffy friend to keep you warm on them cold winter nights, well, a Maine Coon might just be the cat for you.
Remember to always think it over before you get a pet. It’s a big responsibility, you know. You gotta feed ’em, water ’em, take ’em to the vet when they’re sick. But if you’re ready for all that, and you got your heart set on a Maine Coon, well, then I wish you the best of luck in findin’ your purrfect kitty.
