Okay, so I’ve been thinking about getting a Rottweiler for, like, ever. And I finally decided to take the plunge! But not just any Rottweiler, I wanted to make sure I was getting a healthy, well-bred pup. So, my search for “rottweiler kennels in pa” began.
First, I just did a simple search online. I figured that would be the best place to get an idea of what’s even out there.
My Initial Search
I started by just typing my keywords in my search engine and seeing what popped up. I saw a bunch of different websites, some looked pretty professional, others… not so much. It was kind of overwhelming, to be honest.
Digging Deeper
I realized I needed to be a little more organized. I started making a list of the kennels that seemed promising. I looked for things like:
- Clear pictures of the dogs.
- Information about the parents. Health testing info, that kind of stuff.
- Contact information that was easy to find.
- If they sounded like they actually cared about the dogs, and not just making money.
Narrowing it Down
After visiting the webistes, I had a pretty good list going. But a website can only tell you so much. I knew I needed to start making some calls. I grabbed my phone and started dialing. Some places were super friendly and happy to answer all my questions. Others, not so much. One guy practically hung up on me! Definitely crossing that one off the list.
Visiting the Kennels
This was the big one. I scheduled visits with a few of the kennels that seemed the most promising. I wanted to see the dogs in person, see how they were treated, and get a feel for the overall environment.
Seeing those Rottweilers in the kennel, interacting with them, and getting a sense of their personalities made all the difference. It was a ton of work, but so worth it.
