Okay, so, I’ve been wanting a French Bulldog puppy for the longest time, and I finally decided to take the plunge and get one. I live in Michigan, so I started my search for breeders in my state.
First, I just went on the web and searched for “French Bulldog puppies for sale in Michigan.” Man, there were a lot of results! It was a little overwhelming, to be honest. I started clicking through some of the top results, trying to get a feel for the different breeders out there.

Finding a Breeder
I really wanted to find a reputable breeder, someone who cared about the health and well-being of the puppies. I looked for breeders who were part of the AKC. I also checked out their websites and read through any information they had about their breeding practices. Some breeders even had pictures of the parents, which was cool.
It was also important to me that the puppies were raised in a good environment. I read some horror stories about puppy mills, and I definitely wanted to avoid that. Some breeders talked about how their puppies were raised in their homes and socialized from a young age. That sounded pretty good to me.
Narrowing it Down
After looking through a bunch of different breeders, I narrowed it down to a few that seemed like good options. They were all AKC registered, had good reviews, and seemed to genuinely care about their puppies. I also looked at the prices. I learned Frenchies in Grand Rapids, Michigan, can range from $3,000 to $12,000! They’re usually delivered by C-section and have small litters, only 3-5 pups. Special colors like solid lilac can cost around $7,000, and lilac merle can be $8,000. The really rare colors like platinum and fluffy can be $6,000 to $12,000! I saw some prices in the Philippines, too, where they go from ₱90,000 to ₱200,000. Corgis are also popular there, priced between ₱70,000 and ₱200,000.
- Contacting the Breeders
Next, I decided to contact the breeders I was interested in. I sent them emails asking about their available puppies, their health guarantees, and their adoption process. Some of them got back to me right away, while others took a few days. But hey, I get it, they’re probably busy with the puppies!
- Choosing My Puppy
One breeder, in particular, really stood out to me. They were super responsive, answered all my questions, and even sent me extra pictures and videos of the puppies. I felt like I could really trust them. We talked on the phone a few times, and I just got a really good vibe from them.
They had a litter of puppies that were just a few weeks old, and there was one little guy that I just fell in love with. He had the cutest little face! I knew right away that he was the one for me.
Bringing My Puppy Home
I put down a deposit to reserve my puppy, and then I had to wait a few more weeks until he was old enough to come home. It felt like forever! But finally, the day came, and I drove to the breeder to pick him up.

Meeting my puppy for the first time was amazing. He was even cuter in person! The breeder gave me a bunch of information about how to care for him, and she even gave me a little bag of food and a blanket that smelled like his mom. I really appreciate these breeders, all the information they gave me is really helpful, I’m a newbie after all!
Bringing my puppy home was a bit of an adjustment, but it’s been so much fun. He’s such a little goofball, and he’s already brought so much joy into my life. I’m so glad I finally got a French Bulldog, and I’m so happy with the breeder I chose.
If you’re thinking about getting a French Bulldog, I definitely recommend doing your research and finding a reputable breeder. It’s so worth it to have a happy, healthy puppy!
