Okay, so I’ve been thinking about getting a Siamese cat for a while now. I finally decided to pull the trigger and start looking for breeders in Michigan. I mean, who doesn’t love those beautiful blue eyes and that sleek coat, right?
First thing I did was hit up the good old internet. I typed in “Siamese cattery Michigan” and a bunch of stuff came up. Seems like there are quite a few options out there. Lots of websites with info on different catteries, their names, how to contact them, and even their official websites. Pretty handy, I gotta say.

Start Looking
- Started browsing through the listings. Some had kittens expected in January 2025, which is a bit of a wait, but hey, good things come to those who wait, right? Saw one listing near Bay City for $700. Not too shabby.
- Found some other places that let you pick the color of your kitten. I mean, how cool is that? I’ve always been partial to the seal points, but the chocolate points are pretty darn cute too.
- Checked out adoption options as well. Found some rescues and breeders in Michigan. Prices ranged from $500 to a whopping $2,800! Guess it depends on the lineage and the breeder’s reputation.
More Research
Then I dug a little deeper into what it actually means to own a Siamese. I learned that these guys can live a long time, like 15 years or even longer! But they can have some health issues, so I’m thinking pet insurance might be a good idea. Better safe than sorry, you know?
I also read that getting two kittens is often better than one. Apparently, some solo kittens turn out fine, but others can develop “single kitten syndrome.” Even if they don’t, it’s good for them to be around their own kind. Makes sense, I guess. We all need a buddy, right?
Final Thoughts
From what I’ve gathered, Siamese cats are perfect for people who want an active, smart, and social cat. They love to interact with their humans and they’re great with kids. Sounds like a good fit for me!
So yeah, that’s where I’m at with my Siamese cat journey. Still doing my research, but I’m getting more and more excited about the possibility of bringing one of these beauties into my home. It’s a big decision, but I think it’ll be worth it in the end. These cats just seem so special, you know? And hey, I’m ready for the commitment. I think a new furry friend is just what I need.
I will keep looking into those breeders and maybe even visit a few. I’ll keep you guys posted on how it goes!
