Alright, let’s talk about them dogs, the…uh…what’s the name again? Lab-a-dor… and that German…short-haired… somethin’ or other. Yeah, those ones. Them Labrador Retriever German Shorthaired Pointer Mix dogs.
Now, I ain’t no fancy dog breeder, ya hear? I just know what I see. And these dogs, well, they’re a mix, a mutt if ya like, but a good-lookin’ one at that. They ain’t tiny little things, no sir. They’re good-sized dogs, ya know? Big enough to keep ya company, but not so big they’ll knock ya over ever’ time they wag their tail.

Their fur? It’s short, not all long and fluffy like some of them city dogs. And it’s kinda…shiny, I guess. Water don’t stick to it much, which is good if they like to play in the puddles or go swimmin’ in the creek. Heard tell they’re good huntin’ dogs too, but I ain’t never seen it myself.
What else? Oh, they’re friendly. Real friendly. Always waggin’ their tails and lickin’ ya. Good with kids, I reckon. Seen a few around town, and they’re always playin’ nice. But, ya know, every dog’s different. Just like people.
- Size: Medium to big, I’d say. Not too small, not too giant.
- Coat: Short and kinda slick. Water don’t bother it much.
- Temperament: Friendly as can be, mostly. But ya gotta train ’em, just like any dog.
Now, about how long they live… Well, that’s always a gamble with dogs, ain’t it? But I heard tell these ones live a good while, maybe 10, 12, maybe even 14 years if they’re lucky. Course, that depends on how ya take care of ‘em. Gotta feed ‘em good, take ‘em to the vet sometimes, even if it costs a pretty penny.
But, just like us old folks, they can get sick too. Them German Shorthaired Lab mixes, they can have problems with their hips, ya know? Makes it hard for ‘em to walk and run. And their ears, gotta keep ‘em clean, or they get infections. And their eyes too, sometimes they have troubles seein’ right. So ya gotta keep an eye out, ya hear?
Some folks these days, they’re real worried about their dogs’ health. More than they used to be, that’s for sure. Wantin’ the best food, the best medicine, all that. Well, it makes sense, I guess. If ya love somethin’, ya wanna take care of it the best ya can.
These here German Shorthaired Pointer Lab Mix dogs, or whatever ya wanna call ‘em, they seem like good dogs. Healthy, friendly, and lively. But remember, a dog’s a dog. They need trainin’, they need attention, and they need love. Just like the rest of us.
So, if you’re thinkin’ ‘bout gettin’ one of these dogs, do your homework. Talk to folks who have ‘em, read up on ‘em, and make sure you’re ready for the responsibility. A dog ain’t just a pet, it’s family. And family, well, family’s important.

And that’s about all I gotta say about them Labrador and German Shorthaired Pointer mixed dogs. They’re good dogs, if you treat ’em right. Just like anythin’ in life, ya get out what ya put in. Now go on, get yourself a cup of coffee, and quit botherin’ an old woman.
Remember, every dog is different. This is just a general idea of what these mixed breed dogs might be like. Always best to meet a dog in person before you decide to bring ’em home.
