Okay, so, today I wanted to share my super fun day at the Jeannie Anderson Pippin Corgi Dog Show. I’ve always been a huge fan of corgis, with their little legs and fluffy butts, so you can imagine my excitement!
First off, I got up early and prepared myself for a day full of cuteness. I packed a small bag with some essentials: water, snacks, and of course, my camera. I wanted to capture every adorable moment.
Getting There
The show was held at a local park, which was perfect because it had plenty of space for the dogs to run around and play. I drove over, found a parking spot, and walked towards the entrance. The atmosphere was already buzzing with excitement. I could hear the happy barks and see lots of people milling around with their corgis.
The Show Begins
I found a good spot near the show ring and settled in. The first part of the show was all about how the corgis looked. Each dog strutted their stuff, and the judges examined them carefully. It was pretty neat to see how these little guys can be so proper and serious when they need to be. I learned about the Queen’s corgis, like Holly and Willow, and how she got her own corgi, Susan, back in 1944. This made me feel even more connected to the event.
- I watched a bunch of corgis compete in different categories.
- I took a ton of photos of the cutest corgis I could find.
- I even met a few of the owners and chatted with them about their dogs. They were all super friendly and passionate about their pets.
- Some were short and some were fluffy.
Fun and Games
After the more formal part of the show, there were some fun and games. I saw the corgis compete in an agility course, which was hilarious. They were running through tunnels, jumping over hurdles, and weaving through poles. Some of them were super fast, while others took their time, sniffing around and enjoying the course at their own pace.
The Highlight
The highlight of the day for me was definitely the “Best in Show” competition. I remembered reading that a corgi had won before, and I was excited to see if it would happen again. The tension was high as each corgi paraded around. In the end, a beautiful corgi named Winston took home the prize. Everyone cheered, and it was such a great moment to witness. I even managed to snap a picture of Winston with his ribbon.
Wrapping Up
As the day ended, I felt so happy and fulfilled. I gathered my things, said goodbye to some of the new friends I had made, and headed home. My camera was full of adorable corgi pictures, and my heart was full of joy. I recalled seeing corgis in the 2021 National Dog Show and thought about all the “best of corgi” moments I had witnessed today. This experience was definitely one for the books, and I can’t wait to go to another corgi event soon! Also, I learned a lot about their history.
Thanks for letting me share my adventure with you all! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
