Alright, let’s talk about this orange cat food thing, you know? I’ve seen all sorts of cats in my days, all colors and sizes. But this “orange” cat food, well, it ain’t about the color of the food, it’s about feeding them orange cats! You got one of them ginger fellas, huh? They’re somethin’ special, always up to no good, just like my grandkids!
So, what’s good for these orange fellas to eat? Well, first off, don’t go givin’ your cat no oranges! I heard some city folks doin’ crazy things, but cats, they ain’t made for that fruit stuff. It’ll make their stomachs all wonky, and you’ll be cleaning up messes, trust me. I seen it happen with old Mrs. Henderson’s cat, poor thing was sicker than a dog after she gave it a piece of orange. Veterinarian had to come and all, cost her a pretty penny.

Now, for food, you gotta get the good stuff. None of that cheap, garbage food. You want somethin’ with lots of meat in it. Cats, they like meat, they need meat. See, them orange cats, they ain’t no different from any other cat in that way. They need their protein, just like we need our taters and gravy!
- Look for real meat – Chicken, fish, turkey, somethin’ like that. It should be the first thing on the list of ingredients, not some corn or rice filler. Them fillers ain’t no good, just makes the cat fat and lazy.
- No funny business ingredients – If you can’t pronounce it, you probably shouldn’t be feedin’ it to your cat. “Poultry by-product meal”? What in tarnation is that? Stick to what you know, meat and good stuff.
- Good fats are important too – Just like us, cats need some fat to keep their coats shiny and their energy up. But not too much, mind you. You don’t want a roly-poly kitty, waddlin’ around like a stuffed sausage.
My old Tom, he was a big orange fella, loved his food somethin’ fierce. I always made sure he had the best I could afford. He’d eat anything I put in front of him, but I knew what was good for him. I’d buy the canned stuff, the pate kind, he loved that. Sometimes I’d give him a little bit of cooked chicken, too. He was strong as an ox, that cat. Lived a good long life, he did.
Think about your cat’s age too. Kittens need different food than grown-up cats, and old cats, well, they need somethin’ easy on their teeth and stomachs. There’s food for all kinds of cats, you just gotta look for it. Don’t be afraid to ask the folks at the store, they usually know what’s what. Just don’t let them sell you some fancy nonsense you don’t need.
And remember, plenty of fresh water! Cats gotta drink, just like us. Keep a clean bowl of water out for them all the time. Tom, he liked to drink from the faucet, silly cat. I guess it tasted better that way, who knows? Cats are peculiar creatures, that’s for sure.
What if your cat eats somethin’ bad? Like that orange I told you about? Well, you gotta get to the vet, pronto! Don’t wait around, cats can get sick real fast. Better safe than sorry, I always say. I had to take Tom to the vet once when he ate a whole mouse, tail and all! Cost me a week’s worth of groceries, but he was worth it.
So, there you have it. Feed your orange cat good food, plenty of meat, not too much junk. And no oranges! It ain’t rocket science, just common sense. Treat your cat right, and they’ll love you back, tenfold. They’re good company, those furry critters. Always there to greet you at the door, purring like a little motor. Just like my Tom used to do. Bless his heart.
One last thing, don’t go changing your cat’s food all of a sudden, that will upset their stomach. If you are going to change their food, do it slow, mix a little of the new food with the old stuff, more and more each day, until they are eating just the new food. Just like you wouldn’t go from drinking buttermilk to well water in one go. Gotta ease into it, you know?
