Okay, so, this whole thing started because I was cleaning my cat’s litter box the other day, right? And it hit me – sometimes, my own poop kind of smells… similar. Weird, I know, but stay with me.
I’m not a scientist or anything, but I got curious. I started paying more attention. I noticed that the smell was more alike when my poop, uh, wasn’t super solid. You know, when it was a bit… softer.

My “Experiment”
I didn’t do anything crazy, okay? No labs or anything. It was more like just paying attention to what I was eating and then… observing the results. Gross, maybe, but I was determined to figure this out.
- Day 1: Had a bunch of fiber – lots of veggies, some whole grains. The result? Pretty normal, not much of a litter box smell.
- Day 2: Went heavy on the processed food. Burgers, fries, the works. And… yep, there it was. That faint, but noticeable, cat litter smell.
- Day 3: Tried a mix of both. Some healthy stuff, some not-so-healthy. The result was somewhere in between.
It’s not exactly rocket science, but I think I’m onto something. What I suspect is the * I eat more junky food, the smell got more and more, uh, similar to the cat litter.
Observations
I continued this observation, and recorded it. The key is to eat less junky food, and the smell would not be so similar to cat litter.
So, that’s it. My totally unscientific, slightly gross, but ultimately enlightening journey into the world of poop smells. Maybe it’s something you’ve never thought about, but hey, now you know! And maybe, just maybe, you’ll pay a little more attention next time, too. Just don’t tell your friends I told you to do it.
