Alright, let’s talk about these here dogs, the golden retriever mixed with the chocolate lab, or whatever they call ’em. Folks like fancy names, but to me, a dog’s a dog, ya know? But, I guess if you wanna sound all smart, you can call ’em “Goldadors.” Sounds like somethin’ you’d find in a fancy store, not a barnyard, but hey, whatever floats your boat.
Now, these Goldadors, they’re somethin’ else. Real friendly, I tell ya. Not like some of them grumpy old dogs you see around. These fellas wag their tails at just about anyone. Good for the kids, I reckon, since they ain’t gonna bite their little fingers off. My neighbor’s got one, and that thing just loves attention. Always lickin’ and jumpin’ and carryin’ on. Makes a mess sometimes, sure, but it’s a happy mess, ya know?

They say these dogs are smart, too. Trainable, they call it. I guess that means you can teach ’em to fetch and sit and all that. Never had much patience for that myself. A dog should be a dog, I say. Let ’em run and chase squirrels and dig holes. That’s what dogs do. But if you’re one of them folks who likes a dog that listens, then maybe a Goldador is for you.
- They are friendly and not aggressive
- They can be trained easily
- They like to play and run
They got good noses on ’em, too. I heard they can smell a biscuit from a mile away. Probably why they’re always sniffin’ around. Always lookin’ for somethin’ to eat, just like my old man used to. Always had his hand in the cookie jar, that one.
And they’re strong, these dogs. Not like them little fluffy things that look like they’d blow away in the wind. These Goldadors, they got some muscle on ’em. Good for pullin’ things, I bet. Not that I’d be makin’ a dog pull a plow or nothin’. That ain’t right. But if you needed a dog to carry somethin’, I reckon these fellas could do it.
But just like anythin’ else, these dogs ain’t perfect. They say they can get sick sometimes, somethin’ about their hips and eyes. Don’t know much about that, but it sounds like somethin’ you gotta watch out for. Gotta take care of your animals, that’s what I always say. Can’t just let ’em fend for themselves.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a dog that’s friendly and playful and maybe even a little bit smart, then this golden retriever and lab mix might be just the ticket. But remember, a dog’s a responsibility. You gotta feed ’em and water ’em and love ’em. And if you do that, they’ll love you right back. That’s the way it should be, ain’t it?
Now, some folks might tell you that you need to spend a fortune on a dog like this, all them fancy breeders and such. But I say, just find a good ol’ farm dog, a mutt even, and you’ll have just as much love and loyalty. It ain’t about the pedigree, it’s about the heart of the dog, ya know? A good dog is a good dog, no matter where it comes from.
These Goldadors, they live a good while, too, maybe ten or twelve years, if you take care of ’em right. That’s a long time to have a friend by your side, someone who’s always happy to see ya, no matter how bad your day was. That’s worth more than all the money in the world, I reckon.

And let me tell you, they ain’t just good for lookin’ at neither. These dogs like to work, they like to have a job to do. Maybe not the kind of work you’d do on a farm, but fetchin’ and carryin’ and keepin’ an eye on things. They’re good at that. And they’re good at makin’ you laugh, too. Always doin’ somethin’ silly to get your attention.
So, there you have it. My two cents on these Goldador dogs. Take it or leave it, I don’t care. But if you ask me, they’re pretty good dogs, and that’s all there is to it.
