Well, howdy there! You wanna know about this Garfield Road, huh? Alright, I’ll tell ya what I know. It ain’t rocket science, mind you. Just a bunch of statues of that there fat cat, Garfield. You know, the one who loves lasagna? Yeah, that’s the fella.
Garfield Road Trip: See the Cat Statues!

So, this Garfield Road, it’s in some place called Indiana. Never been there myself, but I hear it’s got more than a few of them Garfield statues. They say there’s 14 of ‘em! Can you believe it? 14 statues of a cat! Must be a real popular cat, that Garfield. They call it the Garfield Trail, which is a fancy name for a road with a bunch of cat statues, if you ask me.
They’re scattered all over some county, Grant County they call it. And in a town named Marion. Sounds like a nice enough place, I guess. If you like lookin’ at cat statues, that is. I ain’t one to judge. People like what they like, right?
- Grab Your Camera! You’ll wanna take pictures, I reckon. Folks do that when they see somethin’ unusual, like 14 cat statues.
- Fill Up Your Tank! It’s a road trip, see? You gotta have gas in your car. Don’t wanna get stuck out there with no gas and a bunch of cat statues starin’ at ya.
- Bring Some Snacks! Road trips make ya hungry. Pack some sandwiches, some chips, maybe some of them cookies with the cream in the middle. And don’t forget water! Gotta stay hydrated.
Now, I hear tell you can visit these statues anytime you want. All year round, they say. And you can go at your own pace. No need to rush. Take your time, look at the statues, take some pictures. Maybe even eat a lasagna while you’re at it. Seems fittin’, considerin’ who the statues are of.
They say this Garfield is “America’s favorite lasagna-loving fat cat.” Well, I ain’t never met a cat who didn’t love food, so I guess that makes sense. And he’s fat? Well, a lot of cats get that way if they eat too much lasagna, I reckon. He looks like a rascal though, that Garfield. Always up to somethin’, I bet.
This Garfield Trail thing, it sounds like a good way to see the countryside, if you’re into that sort of thing. You know, drivin’ around, lookin’ at stuff. And if you happen to like that there Garfield cat, well, then it’s probably right up your alley. I ain’t much for cats myself. Prefer dogs, truth be told. But to each their own, I always say.
So, if you’re plannin’ a trip to Indiana, and you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do, you could check out this Garfield Road. It ain’t the Grand Canyon, mind you. But it’s somethin’ different. And who knows, you might even have a good time. Just remember to bring your camera, your gas money, and your appetite. And maybe a can opener, just in case you find some lasagna along the way.
Some folks, they like to plan these things out real careful. They got maps and itineraries and all that. Me? I just like to hop in the car and go. But if you’re one of them planners, well, I hear there’s maps of this here Garfield Trail. You can probably find ‘em online, or maybe at one of them visitor centers. They got those everywhere these days, seems like. Visitor centers, I mean. Not Garfield statues. Though I guess in Indiana, they got a fair few of those too.

And don’t forget sunscreen! Important thing. You’ll be out in the sun a lot looking at those statues, you know. Don’t want to get all burnt up like a piece of toast. And wear good shoes, comfortable ones. You’ll be doing a fair bit of walking. And maybe bring a hat too. Keep the sun out of your eyes.
So there you have it. That’s all I know about this Garfield Road. Not much, maybe, but enough to get you started. If you decide to go, have yourself a good time. And if you see that Garfield cat, tell him I said hello. Though I doubt he’d hear ya. He’s just a statue, after all. But it’s the thought that counts, right? That’s what my mama always used to say, God rest her soul.
Now, you take care and have yourself a good day. And remember, life’s too short to worry too much. Just like that Garfield cat, enjoy the simple things, like a good meal and a sunny day. And maybe a few cat statues along the way.
