Okay, so, today I really wanted to do something fun in Minecraft. I thought, “Why not bring my favorite lazy cat, Garfield, into the game?” So, I started looking into how I could get a Garfield cat texture for my Minecraft Bedrock Edition. I’ve always loved that lasagna-loving cat, and I thought it would be hilarious to see him wandering around my Minecraft world.
First, I did some digging on the internet. I found out that there are these things called “texture packs” that can change the look of things in the game. I browsed a site called Planet Minecraft and found a bunch of cat texture packs, but I couldn’t find a Garfield one at first.

Then, I stumbled upon a discussion about an issue with cat textures. Someone mentioned that a certain line of code in the behavior pack’s * file was causing some color problems. They said removing that piece of code would fix the issue. I thought maybe I could use this info to customize a cat texture to look like Garfield.
I also learned that these texture packs are just cosmetic, meaning they only change how the cats look and don’t affect the gameplay. That’s good to know. One person said that if you’re trying to get a specific achievement, it’s easier to disable the resource pack, so I’ll keep that in mind.
I finally found a texture pack that was just called “Normal Cats.” Someone mentioned that one pack “completely remodels villagers and the wandering trader into cute cat people.” I decided to check out some other packs that people were really excited about. I found names like “Dragon Legends,” “Realistic Textures,” “Wolfhound,” “Legendary,” and “Biohazard.” I figured I’d download them later and try them out sometime, but for now, I was focused on Garfield.
I read that Garfield has a movespeed of about 0.125 because he’s overweight, but he has decent health of 25. That’s pretty funny and accurate, I thought.
Next, I learned that you can download the original texture files for Java Edition with the latest *. But I needed it for Bedrock, so I kept searching. Then found a website had a Garfield skin for Minecraft Bedrock. I downloaded the texture pack.
After installing the texture pack, I loaded up Minecraft and found a cat. And there he was! My very own Garfield, in all his orange, lazy glory. It was perfect! He even moved a bit slower than the other cats, just like the real Garfield.
So, that’s how I brought Garfield into my Minecraft world. It was a bit of a process, but totally worth it. Now, I can enjoy my Minecraft adventures with my favorite cartoon cat by my side. Maybe I’ll even build him a giant lasagna!
