Alright, let’s talk about them pet stores in Alameda, you know, the places where you get stuff for your furry friends. I ain’t got no fancy book learnin’, but I know a thing or two about keepin’ critters happy.
First off, you got yer big names like Petco. They got a bunch of ’em, I hear. Folks say they got everything under the sun for your pets. Food, toys, them little sweaters… you name it, they probably got it. And they got different places, too, like on Fifth Street and South Shores Center. Sounds convenient, right? They say they want “Healthier Pets. Happier People.” Well, that sounds alright to me. If my dog’s happy, I’m happy, that’s for sure.

- They got all kinds of food, I tell ya. Big bags, little bags, dry stuff, wet stuff.
- And toys! My goodness, the toys they got. Squeaky things, chewy things, things you throw… Enough to make a dog go wild!
- Then there’s them beds. Big fluffy ones, little cozy ones. My old cat, she likes a nice soft bed, bless her heart.
Then you got Pet Food Express. I hear that’s another good one. People say they got good quality food there, you know, the stuff that’s supposed to be better for your pets. I ain’t sure about all that fancy talk, but if it keeps ’em healthy, I’m all for it. They’re supposed to be one of the best, you know, along with PetSmart and Pet Supplies Plus, but them last two ain’t in Alameda proper, I think.
Now, there’s this place called Alameda See Spot Run. Sounds kinda cute, don’t it? They say they got “natural and holistic” pet food. That’s a mouthful, ain’t it? Basically, it means they use good stuff, not a bunch of junk. That makes sense to me. You wouldn’t feed your kids garbage, would ya? Same goes for your pets, I reckon. They are all about your pet’s health, they say. That’s good, real good.
And don’t forget places like Unleashed by Petco and Pet Club over in Emeryville, if you don’t mind driving a bit. More choices, I guess, if you can’t find what you need right here in Alameda. And there’s Mike’s Feed Pets too. Sounds like a place for all sorts of animals, not just cats and dogs. Maybe they got stuff for chickens? I always wanted a few chickens… fresh eggs, you know.
Oh, and I almost forgot, Bay Bridge Aquarium and Pet. They got a website, even. Fancy, huh? They been around for six years, so they must be doin’ somethin’ right. I ain’t never been there myself, but I hear they are good. See, there’s lots of choices, depends on what you need and where you live, I guess.
So, if you’re lookin’ for pet supplies in Alameda, you got plenty of options. Big stores, small stores, stores with fancy food, stores with regular food… Just gotta figure out what’s best for your critter and your wallet. And don’t be afraid to ask around, you know, talk to your neighbors, see where they go. Word of mouth is a powerful thing, I tell ya. That’s how I find most things, anyway. And remember, a happy pet makes a happy home. That’s the truth, I tell ya.
Petco says they want to give you a good shopping experience. Well that’s mighty nice of them. I just want a place with good stuff at a good price, you know? And I want it to be easy to find what I need. I ain’t got all day to be wanderin’ around. I got things to do, you know?
And another thing, I like places where the folks are friendly. You know, someone who’ll say hello and ask if you need help. Makes a difference, I tell ya. Some of them big stores, they don’t care about you much, it seems like. I like to support good folks running good businesses. That’s the right thing to do in my book.

Well, that’s about all I got to say about pet supplies in Alameda. Hope it helps ya out some. Just remember to treat your pets good and they’ll treat you good back. That’s the way it should be. Now I got to go feed my own critters. They are probably hollerin’ for their dinner right now.
