Okay, so today I was trying to solve this crossword, and I got totally stuck on this one clue: “90s virtual pet toy”. I was like, “What the heck was that thing called again?” I knew it was on the tip of my tongue, but my brain just wouldn’t cooperate.
First, I racked my brain, trying to remember all the toys I had as a kid in the 90s. I thought about Furbies, but that wasn’t quite it. They were more…fluffy and interactive, I guess? This was something simpler, I recalled.
Then, I started Googling like crazy. I tried different combinations of words: “90s digital pet,” “virtual pet keychain,” “egg-shaped toy 90s”… you name it, I searched it. I scrolled through tons of images of random 90s toys, but nothing seemed to fit.
I even asked my older sister. I was like I said, “Hey, do you remember that little digital pet we had back in the day? It was like a little egg thing?” She just looked at me blankly, no help there!

Finally after digging a little deeper on a message board I came to it.

The answer? Tamagotchi!.Of course! How could I forget? It all came flooding back: the little pixelated creature, the constant beeping for food or attention, the responsibility of keeping it alive… Man, those were the days.
