Okay, so I was scrolling through the feed, and this picture of a husky popped up. Not just any husky, a fat one with those piercing blue eyes. I mean, this dog was seriously chubby, but those eyes! I was hooked. I had to try and draw this majestic beast.
First thing I did was grab my sketchbook and a pencil. I’m no pro artist, but I like to doodle. I started with a basic outline of the husky’s body. Let me tell you, drawing a fat dog is way different than drawing a regular one. All those rolls and that fluffy fur. I sketched and erased, sketched and erased. It was a mess, but I kept at it.

After getting the body shape somewhat right, I moved onto the head. I really wanted to capture those striking blue eyes. They were so intense in the photo. I tried my best to make them the focal point of the drawing. Then, I drew the fur. So. Much. Fur. I used short, quick strokes to try and mimic the texture. I spent a good chunk of time just shading and adding details to the fur, trying to make it look as realistic as possible.
The Result
- It is not perfect, that is for sure.
- The proportions are probably off, and the fur could use more work.
- But, I think I managed to capture the essence of the fat husky.
- Those blue eyes really stand out, at least to me.
It was a fun little project, and it definitely challenged my drawing skills. I might try to draw this husky again sometime, maybe with some colors next time. Who knows, maybe I will even get better at drawing fur!
