You ever heard of an Aussie Corgi mix? Well, let me tell ya, it’s a real interesting little pup. People call ’em Auggies, a mix of the Aussie Shepherd and the Corgi. Now, don’t go thinking these pups are like any other dog, ’cause they ain’t. They got their own ways, that’s for sure.

Everything You Need to Know About the Aussie Corgi Mix: Characteristics & Care

First thing, if you’re thinkin’ about getting one, you gotta know they ain’t the quietest little thing around. The Aussie, they’re more on the quiet side, but that Corgi… well, that little rascal can bark up a storm! And if they get goin’, you’ll be wishin’ you’d never heard that bark. It ain’t a soft bark either, it’s loud. So, if you live in a place where neighbors ain’t gonna be happy about all that noise, you might wanna start teachin’ that pup early on to keep it down a bit. You gotta stay on top of it, else it’ll just get worse.

Now, as for the look of these Auggies, they sure ain’t plain. Most of ‘em got a coat that’s all mixed up with colors—black, brown, tan, and white. Pretty, right? Kinda like a patchwork quilt made by an old hand, all sorts of shades blendin’ together. Their fur is short to medium in length, and it’s soft, but don’t let that fool ya. If it’s the change of the seasons, you best be ready for some heavy grooming. They shed, so you gotta keep up with it, or else you’ll find yourself swimmin’ in fur by the end of the week.

But don’t go thinkin’ they’re high maintenance. For the most part, their grooming needs ain’t too bad. A good brushin’ here and there, and a bath when they get a little too muddy or stinky. But when those seasons shift, and their coat starts to shed, you better roll up your sleeves. You’ll be needin’ a good vacuum, too, or you’ll find yourself stuck in a pile of fur faster than you can say “fetch!”

They ain’t a huge dog either, so you won’t be trippin’ over ‘em all the time. But they’re smart as a whip, and they love to run around. If you’re lookin’ for a dog that’ll keep up with you on walks or at the park, this is a good choice. They got that Aussie energy in ‘em, so they’ll run around and play, but they’re also happy to curl up next to you at the end of the day and nap. It’s like they got two sides to ‘em—one minute they’re ready to play, and the next, they’re tuckered out and wantin’ to nap on your feet.

Now, don’t go thinkin’ just ‘cause they’re small means they don’t need attention. They’re a mix of two smart breeds, so they need things to do. If you let ‘em get bored, they’ll find their own fun—and it might not be the kind of fun you like. These pups love to be kept busy, whether it’s fetchin’ a ball, runnin’ around, or even just figuring out a new trick. They’re quick learners, but they’ll need a little patience from you to keep ‘em focused. You can’t just leave ‘em in the yard all day and expect ‘em to be happy. They need love and time, just like any other pup.

Everything You Need to Know About the Aussie Corgi Mix: Characteristics & Care

One thing you’ll love about these little dogs is they’re friendly as can be. They love their people, that’s for sure. If you’ve got other pets around, most of the time, they’ll get along just fine. But like I said, you gotta make sure they’re trained right from the start. Socializin’ them is important, so they don’t get scared or snappy when they meet new folks or animals. It’s always good to get them used to people early on, especially if you’ve got a busy household. That way, they won’t get all nervous and start actin’ up when new folks come around.

But here’s the thing—you don’t want to forget that this mix is smart, and sometimes they can get a bit too clever for their own good. They’ll find ways to get into mischief if you’re not careful. So keep an eye on ‘em, especially when they’re younger. It’s all part of the fun, but you gotta be prepared. They’ll need patience, training, and love. If you give ‘em that, they’ll be the best little buddy you could ever ask for. Trust me, they’ll stick by your side through thick and thin, always happy to be with you, whether you’re out on an adventure or just sittin’ on the porch enjoyin’ the day.

So, if you’re lookin’ for a dog that’s smart, playful, and full of love, the Aussie Corgi mix might just be the one for ya. Just be ready for a little bit of work, and a whole lotta love. And if you’re good to ‘em, they’ll be good to you. Ain’t that how it always goes with dogs?
