Hey everyone, it’s been a while! Today I want to share a little DIY project I did for my furry friend – making a dog rope with a ball. My dog, Max, absolutely loves to play fetch and tug-of-war, so I thought, why not make him something special?

First off, I went searching for materials. I wanted something natural and safe for Max, so I decided to go with cotton rope. I remembered reading somewhere that it’s not a big deal if dogs swallow pieces of it. Seemed like a good choice. I picked up some 1/2” cotton rope from a local store. I heard that 1/2”-3/4” is suitable for a little dog, but since I’m not going to make it for little one, so I just bought some 1/2” rope.

The process was pretty straightforward. Here’s what I did:

  • Cut the Rope: I measured and cut the cotton rope into three equal lengths. I made mine about 3 feet long each, but you can adjust the size depending on your dog’s preference.
  • Tie a Knot: I took the three strands and tied a big knot at one end. This is where the ball will be attached.
  • Braid the Rope: I started braiding the three strands together. It’s just like braiding hair, nothing fancy. I made sure to pull the strands tight to make the rope strong.
  • Adding the Ball: When I got about halfway down, I took a tennis ball and made a hole through it. I used a drill, but you can use whatever you have. Then I threaded the braided rope through the ball.
  • Continue Braiding: I kept braiding until I reached the end of the rope.
  • Final Knot: Once I got to the end, I tied another big knot to secure everything.

And that’s it! A brand new dog rope with a ball for Max. He went crazy for it! We played in the backyard for hours, and he hasn’t stopped chewing on it since. This is a very successful job!

I saw a bunch of fancy dog toys online with big discounts, up to 90% off. But honestly, making this myself was way more satisfying, and I know exactly what materials are in it. Plus, it was a fun little project to do on a lazy afternoon.

If you’re looking for a simple and fun way to spoil your dog, give this a try. It’s cheap, easy, and your dog will love you for it!

Alright, that’s all for today’s little adventure. Hope you guys enjoyed it. Catch you in the next one!
