Well, howdy there! You wanna know ’bout them Maine Coon cats in Minnesota, huh? Alright, let me tell ya what I know. I ain’t no fancy cat expert or nothin’, just an old woman who’s seen a thing or two.
First off, them Maine Coons, they’re big ol’ cats. Real big. Like, bigger than any other cat you’ve probably seen. They got long hair, too, all fluffy and soft. Good for keepin’ warm in them cold Minnesota winters, I reckon.
Now, if you’re lookin’ to get yourself one of these Maine Coon critters, you gotta find a breeder, see? There’s a bunch of ’em around Minnesota. I heard tell of some folks called “Lake Maine Coons.” They’re a family, just like you and me, and they raise these cats. Say they love their kitties, and them kittens got good personalities. That’s important, you know? You don’t want no mean ol’ cat scratchin’ up your furniture.

- Like to play and be around people.
- Makes ’em good company, especially if you’re lonely.
But get this, they make funny little noises. Like chirpin’ birds, they say. Can you imagine a big ol’ cat chirpin’ like a bird? That’s somethin’ else, ain’t it?
Now, if you’re thinkin’ you can just go to the shelter and pick up a Maine Coon, well, you might be outta luck. They ain’t common like them other cats. You gotta go to a breeder, and that’s gonna cost ya. I heard tell it could be anywhere from a thousand to two thousand dollars! That’s a lot of money, if you ask me. But I guess if you really want one of them fancy cats, you gotta pay the price.
I also heard of a place called “Mara Topline Maine Coon Cattery.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? Run by some folks named Swanson. Brian and Cynthia, I think. They probably got a whole bunch of them big cats runnin’ around.
Then there’s “MasterCoons Cattery.” They sell Maine Coon kittens right here in Minnesota. You can find your new furry family member from them. They say they’re trusted and reputable breeders, so that’s good.
And if you’re in Minneapolis, well, there’s folks there sellin’ them too. Purebred ones, they say. With good temperaments. That means they ain’t gonna be bitin’ and scratchin’ all the time, I reckon. You want a cat that’s gonna cuddle up on your lap, not one that’s gonna try to take your hand off.
So, there you have it. That’s all I know ’bout them Maine Coon cats in Minnesota. Big, fluffy, friendly, and expensive. If you want one, you gotta do your research and find a good breeder. And be prepared to shell out some cash. But I reckon they’re worth it, if you’re a cat person. Me, I’m more of a dog person myself. But them Maine Coons, they’re somethin’ special, that’s for sure.
