Okay, so, I’ve got three cats, right? And they’re always, ALWAYS scratching. It’s like a symphony of “snick, snick, snick” all day long. I’d tried everything – sprays, different foods, even those weird pheromone diffusers. Nothing seemed to work. Then, a friend of mine, she’s got like five cats, she told me about Credelio for Cats.
I was like, “Credelio? What’s that, some kind of fancy Italian cheese?” No, seriously, I had no clue. She explained it’s a chewable tablet that helps with fleas and ticks. My first thought was, “Yeah, good luck getting my picky eaters to take a pill.” One of my cats, Mittens, she’s the queen of suspicion. She eyes anything new like it’s a personal attack.

The Great Experiment Begins
So, I went ahead and ordered some Credelio. I figured, why not? I was at my wit’s end. When it arrived, I opened the package, and the tablets were these little, brownish squares. They didn’t smell like much, which I considered a good sign. Less chance of Mittens turning her nose up at it.
The real test, though, was giving it to them. Here’s how it went down:
- Shadow (the easy one): This guy will eat anything. Seriously, I think he’d eat a shoe if I offered it to him. I just tossed the Credelio tablet on the floor, and he gobbled it up like a treat. Done. One down, two to go.
- Patches (the moderately picky one): Patches is a bit more discerning. I had to get sneaky. I crushed the tablet up and mixed it into a tiny bit of wet food – the really stinky, fishy kind that he loves. He sniffed it for a second, then went to town. Success!
- Mittens (the ultimate challenge): This was the big one. Mittens is like a food critic, but instead of writing reviews, she just glares at you with disdain. I tried the wet food trick. Nope. She took one sniff and walked away. I tried hiding it in a pill pocket. Nope. She ate the pocket and spat out the Credelio. I was starting to think I’d been defeated.
Finally i was success for Mittens after i crushed it very small and mixing it into a super-duper-extra-special salmon pate that she only gets on her birthday.
The Results (Are In!)
So, all three cats had (finally) taken the Credelio. Now, it was just a waiting game. And honestly, I was pretty amazed. Within a day, I noticed a HUGE difference. The scratching was way, way down. Like, almost gone. It was like a miracle. The constant “snick, snick, snick” had been replaced by…peace and quiet!
It’s been a few weeks now, and the scratching is still minimal. They seem much more comfortable, more relaxed. Even Mittens seems a little less grumpy (though that could just be my imagination). I’m definitely going to keep using Credelio. It’s been a lifesaver – or, at least, a furniture-saver!
