Alright, let’s talk about these dog car seats, the kind you put right smack in the middle there, on that console thingy between the front seats. I’ve seen ’em, and folks seem to like ’em, so I figured I’d chew it over a bit.
Now, first off, what are these things anyway? Well, they’re like little chairs or baskets, small enough to fit on that center console, made for your little dog or maybe even a cat, I reckon. Keeps ’em safe and sound while you’re driving. No more of them jumpin’ around and distractin’ ya.

I saw one called “SlowTon Console Dog Car Seat” online. Sounded fancy. Said it was portable, which I guess means you can take it in and out easy. That’s good, ’cause sometimes you gotta clean them things, what with the dog hair and who knows what else.
Then there was another one, “Cullaby Small Dog Car Seat”. Said it was for dogs under 15 pounds. Looked pretty sturdy in the picture. You want sturdy, ya know? Don’t want it fallin’ apart on ya when you’re goin’ down the road.
And another one, “PETSFIT Center Console Dog Car Seat”, they called it “luxury.” Humph, luxury for a dog. What’ll they think of next? But I guess if you want your dog ridin’ in style, that’s the one for ya.
“Snoozer Center Console Dog Car Seat”, that was another name I saw. Made for dogs under 12 pounds and for wide vehicles. So if you got a big ol’ truck, maybe that’s what you need. They also said it had a washable cover, which is a good thing. Dogs can be messy, bless their hearts.
And then there’s a bunch of them that just say somethin’ like “Center Console Dog Car Seat for Small Dogs Up to 12lbs”. Plain and simple. That’s what I like. No fancy talk. Just a seat for your little dog.
One thing they all seem to have in common is straps. Gotta strap that thing down good and tight, so it don’t go flyin’ if you have to stop quick. And most of ’em got straps or some kind of harness to keep the dog in the seat too. That’s important, ya know?
Now, if you got a puppy, they say these console seats are a good choice, because it helps them feel calmer to be close to you. Makes sense, I guess. Little fellas get scared easy. But they also say you’ll need to stop more often for potty breaks and such. Puppies, they got small bladders, ya know.
And listen, if you get one of these things, make sure you get one with a cover you can take off and wash. Trust me on that. Puppies, and even older dogs, they have accidents. And dog hair, don’t even get me started on dog hair. It gets everywhere.
