Well, let’s gab about them Burmese cats, alright? Don’t know much about fancy words, but I know a thing or two about cats, ya know. Grew up with ’em, always had a few running around the place.

Burmese cats, what are they all about? I hear tell they’re some kinda special. Not your everyday alley cat, that’s for sure. Folks say they got a real nice look to ’em. Pretty faces and such. And the fur? Soft as a baby’s behind, they say. Never touched one myself, but that’s what I hear.

Choosing a Burmese Cattery: What You Need to Know
  • Looks: I reckon they look kinda sleek. Not all fluffy like them Persian things. More like… well, like a cat, but a fancy one. Comes in different colors too, I think. Blackish, brownish, maybe even a bit blue-grey. Fancy, I tell ya.
  • Personality: Now, this is where it gets interesting. They say these Burmese cats are real love bugs. Always wantin’ attention, rubbin’ up against ya, purrin’ like a motor. Good for folks who are lonely, I guess. But mind you, they ain’t no doormats. They got spunk, them cats. Playful and curious, always gettin’ into somethin’.
  • Taking Care of ’em: Well, a cat’s a cat, ain’t it? Gotta feed ’em, give ’em water, and clean up after their mess. But these Burmese, they might need a bit more, seein’ as they’re so fancy. Maybe special food, I don’t know. And you gotta play with ’em, keep ’em entertained. Otherwise, they’ll tear up your house, sure as the sun rises in the east. And don’t forget the vet! Gotta get them shots and check-ups, just like us humans. Costs a pretty penny, I bet.

Thinking of gettin’ a Burmese cat? Hold your horses there, sonny. It ain’t like pickin’ up a stray from the barn. This is serious business. You gotta be ready for it. These cats, they need company. Can’t just leave ’em alone all day, they’ll get lonely and sad. So if you work all the time, maybe get two of ’em. They can keep each other company, see? And they ain’t cheap either, not the pure bred ones from a good burmese cattery. Heard them fancy breeders charge a lot. But I guess if you got the money and the time, why not? Just make sure you know what you’re gettin’ into, that’s all.

Now, about them boy cats and girl cats. Folks say there’s a difference. Girl cats, they’re bossy, always tellin’ everyone what to do. Runnin’ the house, they say. Want all your attention, all the time. Boy cats, they’re a bit more laid back, I hear. Happy to chill, cuddle up, take a nap. But they’re all lovey-dovey, both of ’em. So it really just depends on what you like. Me? I always liked them tomcats, the big, lazy ones. But that’s just me.

Getting your house ready for a Burmese kitten is important too. Gotta make sure it’s safe, ya know. No wires hangin’ around, no poisonous stuff they can get into. And you gotta have a place for them to eat, sleep, and do their business. Litter box, food bowls, comfy bed… the whole shebang. It’s like gettin’ ready for a baby, only furrier. And don’t forget scratching posts! Otherwise they’ll ruin your furniture. And remember, these cats are dark, the darkest of all the Thai cats so don’t go tripping over them in the night.

Burmese cats come in different colors, see. Sable, champagne, blue, platinum… sounds like fancy car paint, don’t it? But it’s just cat fur. And it all comes from them black cats, way back when. Something about their genes, I don’t understand the science of it. But it makes ’em pretty, that’s for sure. And they’re healthy cats, so that’s good, less trips to the vet and less worrying.

So, there you have it. My two cents on Burmese cats. They seem like nice critters, if you got the time and the money. Loving, playful, and pretty to look at. But remember, a cat is a big responsibility. It ain’t a toy, it’s a living thing. Gotta treat ’em right, give ’em love and care. And if you do that, you’ll have a friend for life. A furry, purring, sometimes annoying, but always loving friend. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed my own cats. They’re probably screamin’ their heads off by now. Them barn cats, they ain’t fancy, but they’re good company.
