Hey everyone, I’ve been meaning to share my experience with different cat litters, and today I finally got around to testing out Cat’s Pride. I’ve heard mixed reviews, so I wanted to see for myself what all the fuss is about.
Getting Started
First off, I grabbed a container of Cat’s Pride Fresh & Clean from the store. It wasn’t too expensive, actually a couple of bucks cheaper than my usual brand, which was a nice surprise. The packaging claimed it was good at absorbing and controlling odors, so I was pretty hopeful.

Putting It to the Test
I cleaned out my cat’s litter box and filled it with the Cat’s Pride litter. The first thing I noticed was that it was pretty low-dust, which is always a plus. My cat, being the picky creature she is, took her time inspecting the new litter, but eventually, she decided it was acceptable.
Over the next few days, I kept a close eye on things. The litter did a decent job of clumping, making it easy to scoop out the waste. I’ve used litters that clump better, but this one was definitely not bad. I did use a little bit of odor control just in case but it wasn’t much different to what I always do.
Observations
- Absorption: It absorbed pretty well. No major complaints there.
- Odor Control: This was a bit of a mixed bag. It wasn’t terrible, but I didn’t notice a huge difference compared to other brands. I was expecting a bit more, to be honest.
- Dust: Definitely low-dust, as advertised. My cat and I both appreciated that.
- Tracking: Pretty good, didn’t have any problems with litter tracking around the house.
Final Thoughts
After a week of using Cat’s Pride, I’d say it’s a decent option, especially considering the price. It’s not the best litter I’ve ever used, but it gets the job done. It’s not revolutionary, but it’s reliable. I’ve heard that the unscented version might be better, so maybe I’ll try that next time.
Anyway, that’s my experience with Cat’s Pride cat litter. If you’re looking for an affordable option that’s relatively low-dust and clumps reasonably well, it might be worth a try. Just don’t expect miracles in the odor control department!
Hope this helps some of you out there! Let me know if you’ve tried Cat’s Pride and what your experience was like.
