Oh, you wanna know ’bout them newborn German Shepherd puppies? Well, lemme tell ya, them little pups ain’t big at all when they’re born. They’re so tiny, you could hold ’em in the palm of your hand if ya got big ol’ hands like mine. Them babies weigh just a little, barely enough to make your fingers feel like they got somethin’ in ’em. But, don’t let that fool ya—these pups grow up real quick!

Now, I ain’t no dog expert or nothin’, but I’ve seen enough to know that German Shepherds, well, they ain’t gonna stay small for long. At birth, them little puppies weigh ’round 1 to 1.5 pounds, just about the size of a big ol’ bag of sugar, maybe less. They got their eyes closed, don’t see nothin’ for the first few days, and they ain’t walkin’ around just yet. They’re so helpless, just like a little baby.
How do they grow so fast?
Well, them puppies, they’re gonna start growin’ like a weed! In just a couple weeks, they’re gonna start packin’ on the pounds, puttin’ on muscle. By the time they hit 8 weeks, you might see ’em weighin’ ’round 15 pounds! Now, they ain’t lookin’ so tiny no more. They start to get that big German Shepherd look about ’em, all strong and ready to play.
What should ya feed ’em?
Feeding them little pups ain’t too hard. In the first few weeks, mama dog’s gonna take care of ’em with her milk, but if you gotta step in, ya better make sure to get them some good puppy formula. Don’t be usin’ regular milk, that’s bad for ‘em. And once they get old enough, you start givin’ ‘em some soft puppy food. That’ll help ‘em grow strong, and grow fast.

Taking care of newborn German Shepherd pups
Now, if you got yourself some newborn German Shepherd puppies, you gotta be real careful. You can’t just leave ’em out there to fend for themselves like the grown dogs. Them pups need a warm spot to sleep, ’cause they ain’t got enough fur to keep themselves warm. You might need to put a little heater near ’em, but don’t let it get too hot, or you’ll cook ‘em! Keep ‘em comfy, make sure they got enough food, and always keep an eye on ’em.
Also, keep them clean. They don’t do nothin’ much but eat and sleep when they’re real small, but still, you gotta make sure they ain’t sittin’ in their mess. Clean up after ’em as best as ya can. They ain’t gonna be runnin’ around playin’ just yet, but it won’t be long ’til they start wobbly walkin’ and playin’ around with each other. Them puppies love to get their little paws all over the place!
When will they start to look like grown dogs?
Well, as I said before, they grow quick! By the time they hit 3 months old, them pups are startin’ to look more like the German Shepherds ya see in them movies. By then, they should weigh somethin’ like 25-30 pounds, and they start actin’ like they own the place, even if they’re still just little things. At 6 months old, they’re gonna be about 50 pounds and startin’ to get that adult dog look—tall, strong, and ready for whatever.

But don’t rush ’em! They still got a lot of growing to do. By the time they hit a year old, they’ll weigh about 70-90 pounds and be fully grown. That’s a big ol’ dog, but don’t worry, they still got plenty of love to give ya, even when they’re big and strong.
Are they easy to train?
Now, German Shepherds, they’re real smart dogs. They catch on real quick, especially when they’re pups. You gotta start trainin’ ‘em young. They ain’t gonna learn everything in a day, but by the time they’re a few months old, you can start teachin’ ’em basic things like “sit” and “stay”. They’re real loyal and they wanna please ya, so trainin’ ain’t too hard if ya’re patient with ‘em.
Just remember, they need lots of attention and exercise. Them little pups, they got a lot of energy, and you don’t want them getting bored. A bored puppy is a troublemaker, let me tell ya! But if you give ‘em love, attention, and a bit of training, they’ll grow up to be good, strong dogs, just like them German Shepherds ya see on TV!
So, there ya have it! Them newborn German Shepherd puppies might start small, but don’t blink, ‘cause they grow faster than you can say “fetch”!
