Alright, so, I had this idea to do something fun with my golden retriever, Cooper. You know, give him a little makeover. The idea was simple: “brown nose golden retriever”. I thought it would be a cute little project, something to share with you all.
Getting Started
First, I gathered my supplies. I needed something safe to use on Cooper’s nose, obviously. I did some digging and found this pet-safe, non-toxic paint. It’s basically like a face paint but made for dogs. Came in a bunch of colors, but I just needed brown.

- Pet-safe, non-toxic brown paint
- A small, soft brush
- Some of Cooper’s favorite treats (for being a good boy, of course)
- A damp cloth (for any potential messes)
The Process
So, with everything ready, I called Cooper over. He’s a good boy, always eager to see what I’m up to. I sat him down and gave him a little treat to start things off on a positive note.
Next, I dipped the brush into the brown paint. It was kind of thick, like a paste. I made sure to get just a little bit on the brush. Cooper was looking at me with those big, curious eyes. I gently started to apply the paint to his nose. He didn’t seem to mind at all, bless his heart. Just kept looking at me, probably wondering what the heck I was doing.
I carefully painted his nose, trying to get an even coat. It was a bit tricky, but I managed to get it done. He sat there patiently while I worked, a true champ. He got another treat for that, for sure. Every now and then, I’d stop and give him a little scratch behind the ears.
The Result
And there it was, a “brown nose golden retriever”. It looked pretty funny, actually. I had a good laugh. Cooper seemed to like it too, wagging his tail and all. I took some photos to capture the moment. He looked so goofy with his new brown nose!
After taking the pictures, I used the damp cloth to wipe off the paint. It came off easily, no problem. Cooper didn’t even flinch. He just went back to his usual business, chasing his tail and whatnot.
It was a fun little experiment. Something different, you know? And Cooper was a great sport about it. That’s my boy! It’s always fun trying new things with him. He makes everything more entertaining. Anyways, thought I’d share this little adventure with you guys. Hope you enjoyed it!
