Okay, here’s my sharing about “cats and bulldogs” today:
So, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about getting a pet. You know, something to liven up the place and give me some company. I was really leaning towards a bulldog – they’re just so darn cute with their squishy faces and grumpy expressions. But then, a friend of mine brought over their cat, and I have to admit, I was smitten. That little furball was all purrs and cuddles, and it got me wondering: could I have both?

I started digging around, asking people, and reading some stuff online. It turns out, it’s not as crazy an idea as I thought. I mean, we always see those cartoons and movies where cats and dogs are at each other’s throats, but in real life, it’s not always like that. I found that bulldogs in particular are usually chilled, and some people even said they are ok with cats. Some of the people I spoke to said their bulldogs and cats got along just fine. One guy even told me about his bulldog and cat who were best buds – the cat would clean the bulldog’s face while it napped! I found this super cute.
I dug a bit deeper and started thinking about the practical side of things. Cats are generally pretty independent. They don’t need as much walking as dogs, which is a plus since I’m not always super active. But they still like to play and cuddle, so I’d have to make time for that. Dogs, especially bulldogs, need more attention and exercise. Walks, playtime, belly rubs – it’s all part of the package.
Here’s a little list I made to keep track of the things I learned about cats and bulldogs:
Cats
- Chill vibes: Cats are usually pretty relaxed.
- Less exercise: They don’t need to be walked constantly.
- Independent streak: They’re happy to do their own thing.
- But still cuddly: Every cat is different, some are super affectionate.
Bulldogs
- Usually calm: They’re not known for being hyper.
- Need walks: Gotta keep them healthy and happy.
- Love attention: Snuggles and playtime are a must.
- Can be stubborn: Training might take some patience.
After all this, I realized that having both a cat and a bulldog could actually work. It wouldn’t be a walk in the park, of course. I’d need to introduce them properly, make sure they each have their own space, and give them both plenty of love and attention. But the idea of having a grumpy bulldog snoring on the couch while a fluffy cat curls up on my lap? That sounds pretty darn amazing to me. I’m still thinking it over, but I’m definitely leaning towards making this cat-and-bulldog dream a reality!
