Now, another thing you can do is get one of them little dog beds, the kind with pockets. You can stick some ice packs in them pockets, and the dog can lay right on top. It’s like a personal little air conditioner just for them. Bessie loved that thing. She’d lay there all day, cool as a cucumber.
And don’t forget about air flow! Even if you got AC, you need air to move around. So, put a little fan in there, nothing too strong, just enough to keep the air movin’. That makes a big difference, y’all.
Heatstroke is a real bad thing, you know. Dogs can get it just like us, and it can kill ‘em. So, we gotta be careful. Keep an eye on them doggies, make sure they ain’t pantin’ too hard or lookin’ too tired. If they are, get ’em cooled down right away. Water, shade, cool towels… whatever it takes.
