So, I decided to make some cat food treats for my little furball today. Figured it would be a fun little project, and hey, who doesn’t love spoiling their kitty?
First, I gathered all the stuff I needed. I grabbed some chicken, because my cat goes crazy for it. Tuna was also on the list – another favorite. And, of course, I needed some salmon. I also picked up some wet food and some dry food, just to mix things up a bit.

Mixing it all
I started by cooking the chicken. Just boiled it until it was nice and cooked through. While that was going, I opened up the cans of tuna and salmon and drained all the liquid out. Once the chicken was done, I shredded it into small pieces.
- Boiled chicken
- Opened and drained tuna
- Opened and drained salmon
- Shredded chicken
Next, I mixed everything together in a big bowl. Added some wet food to help it all stick together, and then sprinkled in some dry food for a bit of crunch. It was kind of messy, but I was having fun!
Treat time!
After everything was mixed well, I rolled the mixture into little balls. They weren’t the prettiest things, but I figured my cat wouldn’t care. Then, I put them on a baking sheet and popped them in the oven for a little while, just to firm them up.
Once they were done, I let them cool down completely. The smell was driving my cat nuts! He was circling my feet the whole time. Finally, I gave him one to try. He gobbled it down in seconds! I think it’s safe to say they were a hit.
So yeah, that’s how I made some homemade cat treats. It was a pretty easy and fun experience. Plus, my cat loved them, which is all that really matters. Might have to try some different flavors next time!
