Okay, so I’ve been thinking about getting a cat for a while, and I’ve always loved the look of black Persian cats. You know, those fluffy, majestic little guys with the squished faces? So I started looking into, like, actually getting one. That’s where the adventure began, I guess you could say.
Digging for Info
First thing I did was hit up the internet, naturally. I started searching for “black Persian cats for sale” and, wow, there’s a lot out there. I mean, a lot. I found tons of breeder websites, some classified ad things, and even some rescue pages. It was kinda overwhelming, to be honest.

I spent hours, seriously, just clicking through websites. I learned a bunch about Persian cats in general – their personalities, how much grooming they need (a LOT, apparently), common health problems, and all that. It was important to me to, you know, actually know what I was getting myself into. No impulse buys here!
Contacting Breeders (and Feeling a Little Awkward)
After I felt like I had a decent grasp on the basics, I started looking at breeders near me. I made a list of the ones that looked legit and had good reviews. Then came the awkward part: calling and emailing them. I felt so weird, like, “Hi, I’m looking for a fluffy black cat… do you have any?” But everyone I talked to was actually pretty nice and helpful.
- I asked about things like the kittens’ parents’ health history.
- I wanted to know if they’d been checked by a vet and had their shots.
- And of course, I asked about the price. Let me tell you, these cats aren’t cheap!
I talked to a few breeders who seemed really great. They sent me pictures and videos of the kittens, and we even did a video call with one so I could see the kittens “in action,” as much as sleepy little fluffballs can be “in action.”
The Waiting Game (and the Decision!)
The hardest time for me is waiting, after I choose the kitten. It’s so hard!
I finally choose my favorite kitten, and wait the breeder’s response.
It’s exciting to have my own black Persian cat!
