Okay, so I’ve got three cats. Three! And let me tell you, the litter situation was getting out of control. I was scooping like a madman, the smell was, uh, present, and I felt like I was constantly buying those giant jugs of litter. I kept seeing “multi-cat litter” at the store and finally decided, “What the heck, let’s give it a shot.”
First thing I did was grab a bag of the regular stuff I usually buy, and then a bag of the multi-cat version from the same brand. I wanted to do a real side-by-side comparison, you know? Keep it scientific-ish.

The Experiment Begins
I cleaned out both litter boxes completely – scrubbed ’em down, the whole nine yards. Then, I filled one with the regular litter and the other with the multi-cat stuff. I made sure to put the same amount in each box, so it was a fair test.
Then, I just… waited. And watched. And, well, sniffed.
Observations – The First Few Days:
- Smell: Honestly, not a huge difference at first. Both litters did a pretty good job of controlling odor in the beginning.
- Clumping: Both clumped up fine, no complaints there. Easy to scoop.
- Tracking: My little monsters track litter everywhere. No noticeable difference between the two in this department.
Observations after a few days
After a few days of monitoring, there are some differences that began to appear.
- Odor Control::after a few days,The multi-cat formula is starting to pull ahead in terms of odor * box with the regular litter is getting a bit, shall we say, ripe.
- Clumping Power:This is where I really noticed a difference. The multi-cat litter clumps were noticeably firmer and more solid. The regular litter clumps were starting to break apart a bit when I scooped, which made it harder to get everything out.
The Verdict (So Far)
I’m still going to keep this experiment going for a full month, but my initial impression? The multi-cat litter is actually living up to the hype. I’m scooping less, the clumps are holding together better, and the smell is definitely more under control.
It’s a little pricier, yeah, but if it means less scooping and a less fragrant living room, I think it might be worth it. I’ll update you guys after a few more weeks and let you know if my opinion changes!
