Okay, so I’ve been thinking about getting a Siamese cat for a while now. I just think they’re so beautiful and elegant. I finally decided to take the plunge and started looking, and wow, it’s a whole process! Here’s how it went down.
The Initial Search
First, I started with a simple online search – you know, “siamese cats for sale ny”. I figured that would give me a general idea of what was out there. I was immediately presented with countless websites, which was a little overwhelming.

Narrowing it Down
I realized pretty quickly that I needed to be more specific. I decided to focus on breeders, since I wanted a kitten and wanted to make sure it came from a good place. I started looking for breeders that specialized in Siamese cats and were located in or around New York.
- Checked out some breeder websites. Some looked really professional, others… not so much.
- Read some online reviews about different breeders. It’s amazing what people will share!
- Looked up some Siamese cat rescue groups, just in case.
Contacting Breeders
After I found a few breeders that looked promising, I started reaching out. I sent emails and made a few phone calls. I asked a bunch of questions:
- How long have you been breeding Siamese cats?
- Can I see pictures of the parents?
- Do you have any kittens available right now?
- What’s the price?
- Are they up to date on shots?
The Waiting Game (and Some Disappointments)
I heard back from some breeders pretty quickly, others took a while. Some didn’t have any kittens available, which was a bummer. One breeder seemed really great, but their prices were way out of my budget. It was definitely a bit discouraging at times.
Finally, a Breakthrough!
But then, I got an email from a breeder who had a new litter! They sent me some pictures, and oh my goodness, they were adorable. I scheduled a time to go visit and see them in person. I was so excited!
Meeting the Kittens
Going to see the kittens was the best part. They were so tiny and playful! I spent about an hour just playing with them and getting to know their personalities. I finally picked out the perfect one – a little seal point boy.
Bringing Him Home
I had some preparation to do at home, and then arrange the time to take him home. I bought all the supplies – food, bowls, litter box, toys, a scratching post, the whole nine yards.I was beyond thrilled to finally bring my new furry friend home!
It was a bit of a journey to find him, but totally worth it. He’s already brought so much joy into my life.
