Okay, so I started looking into “ragdoll cats for sale in Cincinnati” because, well, who can resist those fluffy, blue-eyed beauties? My journey began, as most do these days, with a simple online search.
Digging Around
I fired up my computer and started with a basic search. I just typed in what I was looking for, and a bunch of results pop up.

Finding Potential Sellers
My first step was separating the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. I skipped past any ads for now and, I was looking for breeders that seemed legit and had a good reputation. I was on the hunt for registered breeders, that seemed to be a good indicator of quality, and care for cats.
Making Some Calls (and Sending Emails!)
Once I had a list of, maybe five or six, that seemed ok, it was time to get in touch.I started making phone calls. Some went straight to voicemail, others I actually got to talk to someone. I made notes about how they interacted, if I felt good in conversations, and so on. Also,I sent out a few emails, mostly to the ones that didn’t list a phone number or seemed to prefer email contact.
Asking All the Questions
When I did get someone on the phone, or got an email back, I had my list of questions ready. Stuff like:
- How long have you been breeding Ragdolls?
- Can I see the parents?
- What’s the kitten’s temperament like?
- Do you have any health guarantees?
- What kind of food are they on?
- Have they been to the vet?
I scribbled down all their answers. It was a lot of information to keep track of!
Narrowing It Down
After talking to a few breeders, some definitely stood out more than others. Some were super friendly and helpful, others were a bit… curt. I crossed a couple off my list because they just didn’t give me a good vibe. I’m going with my gut on this, I thought.
Planning a Visit (Maybe)
I’m still in the process. The next step, for at least one or two of these, will be to actually go and visit the kittens. I mean, how else can you really choose? Plus, I want to see the conditions they’re kept in, and meet the parent cats if possible.
So, that’s where I’m at right now. It’s been a bit of a process, but it feels good to be doing my research. Hopefully, I’ll be snuggling a new fluffy friend soon!
