Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this automatic pet feeder thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey. I got this thing because, well, life gets busy, and sometimes I’m not home to feed my cat, Mittens, on time. I figured this gadget would be a lifesaver.

First thing I did was unpack the whole thing. It came with the feeder itself, a power adapter, and a little booklet that’s supposed to be instructions. It was written in some strange words and I didn’t understand it very well. Honestly, the booklet wasn’t much help, but I managed to plug it in and get the power going. There’s a little light on the front, and it started blinking, so I guessed that was a good sign.

Next, I wanted to connect this thing to my Wi-Fi, ’cause that’s how you control it with your phone. I found a button on the back that said “reset” or something like that. The booklet said to poke it with a paperclip, so I did. I held it down for a few seconds until the light started flashing white. Apparently, that means it’s trying to connect.

After a while, the light turned blue and then stayed on. It took a long time. I think that means it’s connected to the internet. I downloaded the app they told me to use, and after some fiddling around with creating an account and stuff, I finally got the feeder connected to the app.

Setting up a feeding schedule

This is where things got interesting. You can use the app to tell the feeder when to dispense food and how much. I set it up to give Mittens a little bit of food in the morning and evening. I don’t want to overfeed her. You can even record your voice to call your pet when it’s feeding time! That’s kind of neat.

  • Download the app: First, I downloaded the app from the app store.
  • Create an account: Then, I created an account on the app.
  • Set up feeding schedule: I set up the feeding time and food amount for my cat in the app.
  • Record voice: I recorded my voice to call my cat.

The first time it dispensed food, Mittens was a little freaked out, but she got used to it pretty quick. It is working now. I should keep an eye on that light. I don’t know what I need to do if it is not working. Now I don’t have to worry about her going hungry when I’m running late. It’s not perfect, but it does the job. I’d say it’s worth it if you’re a busy pet owner like me. But the whole set up is a little tricky.
