Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this here German Shepherd Labrador mix puppy. My grandson, he got one of these little fellas, and I gotta say, it’s a whole lotta dog in a little package, at least when they’re pups. He calls this mix a Sheprador, sounds like a mouthful if you ask me.
Now, you see, these pups, they come from two kinds of dogs. One’s a German Shepherd, you know, the ones that look like wolves almost. The other is a Labrador, all happy and waggy. So, this German Shepherd Lab mix puppy, it’s got a bit of both in ’em.
These German Shepherd Labrador mix puppies, they’re smart cookies, I tell ya. My grandson, he’s been teachin’ his little Sheprador to sit and stay and all that. Says it learns real quick. And lovin’? Oh, they’re just big ol’ softies. They love to cuddle and play and just be around people. They get that from the Labrador side, always wantin’ to please. This Sheprador, it’s always followin’ my grandson around, tail waggin’ like crazy. They become one of the family real fast.
This here mix, this Sheprador, they say it is a mix of a purebred German Shepherd and a purebred Labrador. Gotta have both to make it a real Sheprador, I reckon. Otherwise, it is just a mutt, not that there is anything wrong with a mutt.

Now, my grandson, he calls his pup a “Sheprador.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? But it’s just a name for this German Shepherd Labrador mix. Don’t let it fool ya, though. They’re still just dogs, even if they got a fancy name. These Shepradors, or German Shepherd Lab mix, whatever you want to call ’em, are good dogs. They are sweet, friendly and energetic. I guess that is also from the Labrador part of them. They also say these dogs are loyal, just like the German Shepherds.
When that little Sheprador puppy first came to the house, he was all tiny and clumsy, tripping over his own paws. But he grew fast, I tell ya. Now he’s gettin’ bigger, not as big as a full-grown German Shepherd, mind you, but still a good size. And he’s got that German Shepherd look in his eyes, but with a softer, Labrador face. I reckon that is what people call a German Shepherd Lab mix.
This German Shepherd Labrador mix puppy, it needs a lot of attention. You gotta play with ’em, take ’em for walks, and teach ’em things. They got a lot of energy, especially when they’re young. And they need someone to show ’em what’s what, otherwise, they might get into mischief. Just like any puppy, I suppose.
My grandson did a whole heap of reading up on these German Shepherd Lab mixes before he got one. Said he wanted to make sure he could take care of it proper. Said these dogs need a firm hand, but a gentle one too. They ain’t mean dogs, not one bit. They are big, lovable and loyal, just like the German Shepherds are. And they’re always happy to see ya, waggin’ their tails and lickin’ your face. This is probably why people call them Sheprador or German Shepherd Lab mix.
So, if you’re thinkin’ about gettin’ one of these German Shepherd Labrador mix puppies, you gotta be prepared. They need a lot of love and attention, and they need someone who’s gonna train ’em right. But if you do it right, you’ll have yourself a wonderful dog, a true friend. A Sheprador, they are loyal and loving. They’ll be by your side through thick and thin, I reckon.
That Sheprador puppy, it’s brought a lot of joy into my grandson’s life. And mine too, I gotta admit. He’s a good dog, that Sheprador. A real good dog. And these German Shepherd Lab mixes are gettin’ popular. I see more and more of ’em around town these days. Guess folks are startin’ to realize what great dogs they are.
I always say, a dog is a dog. And if you treat ’em right and take good care of them they are better than many people. But this German Shepherd Lab mix, this Sheprador, is a good dog. A real good dog.
