And the body, oh, that was a creamy color, like good milk. Then there’s the blue ones, not really blue like the sky, more like a greyish blue, you know? Like old denim that’s been washed a few times. And the chocolates? Well, they’re kinda like milk chocolate, that sweet brown color you get in them candy bars. I hear tell there’s even red ones and lilac ones, but I ain’t never seen them with my own eyes.

My grandbaby, she’s got one of them mitted Ragdoll cats. Sweetest little thing you ever did see. Always followin’ her around, like a little shadow. She calls him “Patches,” ‘cause he’s got all them white spots. That cat, he’s got more white on him than a dalmatian! He’s got white paws, a white chin, and a white stripe right up his nose. Looks like he’s wearin’ a little mask.
These cats, they’re big too, not skinny little things like some cats you see. Big and fluffy, like a cuddly teddy bear. And they ain’t afraid of nothin’, seems like. My grandbaby’s cat, he lets her dress him up in doll clothes and push him around in a stroller. He just lays there, purrin’ away, like he ain’t got a care in the world.
And talk about friendly! These Ragdoll cats, they’re the friendliest critters you ever did meet. They love people, always wantin’ to be petted and fussed over. They ain’t like them other cats, the ones that hiss and scratch and run away when you try to touch ‘em. These Ragdolls, they’ll follow you around like a dog, rubbin’ against your legs and purrin’ up a storm. They just want to be loved, that’s all.
But lemme tell ya, they ain’t the sharpest tools in the shed, these cats. They’re kinda dopey, if you know what I mean. Not real bright. My grandbaby’s cat, he once got stuck in a paper bag. Just sat there, meowin’ pathetically, until someone came and rescued him. And another time, he tried to jump on the counter and missed, ended up landin’ in the dishwater. Silly cat.
And another thing, they ain’t real independent. They need lots of attention. They don’t like bein’ left alone for too long. They get lonely and start meowin’ somethin’ awful. So, if you’re gone all day, workin’ or whatnot, you might want to get two of ‘em, so they can keep each other company. Or maybe just stick to a goldfish, if you ain’t got time for a cat that needs constant cuddlin’. They do say most of them Ragdoll cats are fine if you are gone for a regular work day though, ain’t like they are gonna die or nothin’ if you leave ’em alone for a bit.
But even though they’re a bit dim and a bit clingy, you can’t help but love ‘em. They’re just so sweet and gentle. And them big blue eyes, they just melt your heart. They look right at you, like they can see right into your soul. It’s kinda spooky, but in a good way.
And here’s somethin’ else I heard tell, these Ragdoll cats, they stay playful for a long time, even when they grow up. Most cats, they get all serious and grumpy when they get old, but not these Ragdolls. They stay kitten-like for years, always wantin’ to play and chase things. That’s why they’re so good with kids. They got the patience of a saint, them cats do.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a cat that’s pretty, friendly, and a little bit goofy, then a Colorpoint Ragdoll might be just the thing for you. But be warned, they’ll steal your heart, them cats will. And they’ll probably steal your spot on the sofa too, they big enough for it after all.
